  • The conservative utopia

Love it or hate it, the one conservative value that hasn't changed is the "conservatization" of the American Justice System. Moscow Mitch led the effort to deny Obama his right to appoint justices to the SCOTUS, and Trump himself has appointed two. In just a few years, the political make of up the highest court in the land has theoretically jumped to the right side of the fence.

So far, however, the conservative SCOTUS doesn't seem to be bringing this conservative utopia to life. Witness today's ruling:

Supreme Court blocks Louisiana abortion law as John Roberts joins liberal justices in 5-4 ruling

The ruling blocks Louisiana from enforcing a law that women's groups said would have left the state with just one doctor allowed to perform abortions.

    "Moscow Mitch".
The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

John Roberts is effectively a liberal these days.
Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd
But I'd rather be a fool in the eyes of man
Than a fool in the eyes of God

        It seems that way, yes.

Stay alert, though, because Roberts explained that his hands were tied in this case; the Louisiana law was too similar to the law that was struck down in Texas. He wrote that there's room for states to craft similar bills, in different situations. IOW this is far from the death of a conservative utopia.

        It's just an abject defeat.
