    Infants can't drive cars, and sometimes older people are denied that same right, so it's patently obvious that all human life in this country doesn't have equal rights. Pre-pubescents can't get married, non-police officers can't drive faster than the speed limit, kids can't vote - there are a host of limitations on the rights different human life has.

    If abortion is legal, the unborn do not have the same right to life that a born baby does. Literally.
    Nobody has a "right" to drive a car. Nor a "right" to get married. Nor is speeding a "right"

    And I said, "especially the right to life" because that is a fundamental right we all have. Unless for example you are convicted of a capital crime. Or are attacking someone and they kill you in self defense of their own life. A fetus has done nothing wrong. Left alone it will develop into an adult human being who could contribute to our society, love, have children, grand children. When you take that innocent life you are not just aborting some clump of cells, you are aborting a whole lifetime, and all of the lifetimes that person created (his/her descendants) and robbing the rest of society along the way.

      In fact, you need a license to drive a car or get married (in the US) - and a license is essentially "permission to do that which is otherwise illegal".

          Driving is not a constitutional right. You get your drivers license based on the skills you have and the rules you agree to follow. After you get your driving license you must continue to demonstrate your ability to drive safely on the road. If you fail to demonstrate this ability, you will be issued traffic tickets, or even have your license suspended or revoked. No one has more right to the road than anyone else. If you're going to drive, you owe it to the other roadway users and yourself to operate the vehicle in a safe manner.

                            Nope, it's spelled out in the Constitution. Unless you break the rules, you have a right to life. Unborn haven't broken the rules. Therefore, the right isn't revoked.

                            • May I point out that the phrase "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness" is found in the Declaration of Independence, not the Constitution, and thus is of essentially no legal weight?
