Why is that racist as opposed to simply political, seeing that blacks generally vote Democrat and she is probably Republican or at least conservative.

It is racist because they specifically target black voters, and seems against the voter registrations of it rather than supporting it.

She said nothing about trying to stop anything. Now to show this was not racist answer this question: if Blacks were voting 90% Republican instead of 90% Democrat would she have issued this warning? We all know the answer - so it was political, not racial.

It was a gaff, but it was a racist gaff. It also isn't that significant, except that it was very bad form to word it the way she did.

She should simply have expressed concern over an increase in the number of Democrat voting registrations.

Too many "slips of the tongue" dismissed to avoid accountability for what they say, and people should avoid expressing their inner feelings and beliefs on the public record.

Surely if this woman was a racist then there would be more evidence than a one-off "slip". So is there more evidence?
