  • Racist Election Commissioner

The Mississippi election commissioner is concerned that black people are having too many voter registration events.

But let’s worry about mail-in voting.

The corruption of black voter suppression is not with mail in voting, which is done in several Republican states with up to 60% of ballots mailed in, but with the history of widespread repression of black votes in Republican states. In North Carolina it was recently Republicans caught with their fingers in the voter jar.

Why is that racist as opposed to simply political, seeing that blacks generally vote Democrat and she is probably Republican or at least conservative.

Yes, seriously. Black voters are a political demographic. You didn't know that?

Not possible. Trump said he’s done more for black people than any other president. An angel-winged George Floyd smiled down from heaven at Baloney Loaf’s job numbers.

Surely there must be a misunderstanding.

The numbers above are facts, not opinions from Trump. Black Americans are almost 90% Democrats.

It doesn't excuse the woman from campaigning on social media when she is supposed to be neutral, but her effort appears purely partisan to me. Not racial.

She distinguishes “the blacks” from “the people.”

Listen, I understand it chafes you when a white women who expresses subconscious racism is called racist, but such is the impression when you don’t think about what you write and act innapropriately. This lesson has yet to be learned by most careless users of social media. Good riddance to her.

Understood. A slip that reveals more about her than I had initially caught. That doesn't necessarily negate the political aspect.

Neither does the demographic reality negate the disturbed feeling that the black population feels about these “slips.”

Only if you believe that a "slip of the tongue" reveals a person's true internal dialog, which I think is a shaky premise. Has this woman said anything else that would identify her as a racist?

Interesting that seer is acknowledging racism in the Republican party.

Too many "slips of the tongue" dismissed to avoid accountability for what they say, and people should avoid expressing their inner feelings and beliefs on the public record.

Everyone should have access to voting. The offices you need to visit should be no more than two bus rides away. They should be open often enough that it is not a problem.
