I hate to appear "picky" up but you made a categorical statement "Well if women did not have the vote I suspect there would be a lot less anti-american leftists in office - and that would be a good thing" My emphasis.

Now you must have had something in mind when you wrote that comment.

Of course by making male property ownership a legal requirement you disenfranchise millions of Americans.

Do you relish the idea of a minority all male electorate in a country with a population such as that of the present USA?

No, I'm stating a fact. Women tend to vote more liberally than men. Now you either think that is a good thing or a bad thing, I see it as a bad thing.

OK, we will let female property owners vote too - See I can be reasonable!

Yet you do not explain why you consider it to be "a bad thing" [again apologies to Sellar and Yeatman]

It's not a fact according to Wikipedia, which even mentions a point within the last 60 years when US women voted more conservative than men.

After more careful examination, scholars discovered that the reemergence and growth of gender gaps in American vote choice and party identification were less the result of women becoming more liberal and more supportive of the Democratic Party, but rather men's gradual movement toward the Republican Party. This shift in party loyalties began during the 1960s, when the Democratic Party under the leadership of Lyndon Johnson began to take increasingly assertive positions on civil rights issues. It became increasingly pronounced in late 1980s and early 1990s, as Southern white men, who formerly identified as Southern Democrats, shifted their loyalties to the Republican Party.[12]

It is the usual sweeping generalisation that ignores reality.
