What makes this coronavirus era special, in the sense that we shouldn't criticize a sitting president during it?
The question is why the media is working hard to divide the country when the attention should be about improving our immune systems against the coronavirus.

Trump may be one of the few interested in protecting us from this. We should, at minimal, pray that he promote our protection from such viruses and the attempts to suppress treatments.

Mike, you seem to fall for every conspiracy theory out there and yet your blind to what you can see with your very own eyes. Trump, the self described war time president, waved the white flag and surrendered to Covid-19 four months ago. And it wasn't so much because he felt defeated, he just didn't really care, wasn't all that interested in fighting a war when he could be out playing golf.
This is the richest country in the world Mike, and yet, 6 months in, 132,000 dead, and there is still not sufficient PPE's for those on the front lines, not enough tests or testing equiptment. Trumps idea of fighting a war is in fantasizing that like magic the enemy will just go away.
The biggest problem though isn't Trump, the biggest problem are the people who are either too enthralled to see through the con mans idiotic rhetoric, or just too dumbed down to decipher fact from fiction. His approval rating is down to 38%, so there are some who have broken the spell they seem to have been under. Praying for him to protect you is a worthless exercise, because he has no more intention of protecting you than he has of protecting the troops in Afghanistan from Putins bounty hunters.
One of these days you are all going to recognize Trump for the sociopathic traitor that he is and the sooner you do the better off the country and democracy itself will be. Snap out of it!

When is the last time a leader used a national crisis to further divide the nation. That has to be rare. Despite the last four years, I really think Trump would’ve still been re-elected had he shown the tiniest glimmer of competence in handling this crisis.

Compared to the anti-american left it is no brainier. Besides the election is coming, either Trump will win or we will get "Dementia Joe." In the end, the people will decide.

                I agree completely.

Voters tend to have short memories, so if the most recent memory of a politician is a good one, they'll generally vote for him/her.

With all due respect, this is the question YOU want to ask.

"The media" isn't responsible for the book in this thread's OP; Trump's niece is. Thus, if anyone wants to divide the country in this context, it's her.

Why isn't this book a good reason to cause you to reconsider your support for the president?

Which numbers? Wealth or viral mortality?

Here's wealth by country, with the US at the top of the list.

Here's COVID-19 deaths by country, again with the US on top.

Oh please, he has been president for over three years and there is nothing even suggesting that he would do such a thing. TDS striking again.

In fact, Trump is our least warmongering President in decades. Strangely, this is something that upsets liberals.

Rioting in the streets, tearing down statues, burning flags, trying to impeach the president, accusing him of being a Russian spy, defunding police then complaining about rising crime, Antifa, attacking Christians and forcing them to create Gay Wedding cakes. Burning down buildings and cars.

                            Nope, nothing divisive at all.

This thread is about the upcoming book from Trump's niece. If you're going to turn it into a general whine about groups of people you think I belong to, then please go elsewhere. Thanks in advance.

                                Confirmed & Probable Counts

As of April 14, 2020, CDC case counts and death counts include both confirmed and probable cases and deaths. This change was made to reflect an interim COVID-19 position statement pdf iconexternal iconissued by the Council for State and Territorial Epidemiologists on April 5, 2020. The position statement included a case definition and made COVID-19 a nationally notifiable disease. Nationally notifiable disease cases are voluntarily reported to CDC by jurisdictions.

A confirmed case or death is defined by meeting confirmatory laboratory evidence for COVID-19.

A probable case or death is defined by one of the following:

Meeting clinical criteria AND epidemiologic evidence with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID-19
Meeting presumptive laboratory evidence AND either clinical criteria OR epidemiologic evidence
Meeting vital records criteria with no confirmatory laboratory testing performed for COVID19
Not all jurisdictions report confirmed and probable cases and deaths to CDC. When not available to CDC, it is noted as N/A.
