      Jesus, King of angels, Heaven's light
      Shine Your face upon this house tonight
      Let no evil come into my dreams
      Light of Heaven keep me in Your peace

      Remind me how You made dark spirits flee
      And spoke Your power to the raging sea
      And spoke Your mercy to a sinful man
      Remind me Jesus, this is what I am

        Not the traditional melody, but a stunningly beautiful arrangement of And Can It Be by Dan Forrest.

          1 What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul!
          What wondrous love is this, O my soul!
          What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss
          to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul,
          to bear the dreadful curse for my soul?

          2 When I was sinking down, sinking down, sinking down,
          when I was sinking down, sinking down;
          when I was sinking down beneath God's righteous frown,
          Christ laid aside his crown for my soul, for my soul,
          Christ laid aside his crown for my soul.
          3 To God and to the Lamb, I will sing, I will sing,
          to God and to the Lamb, I will sing;
          to God and to the Lamb who is the great I AM -
          while millions join the theme, I will sing, I will sing;
          while millions join the theme, I will sing.

          4 And when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
          and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing on;
          and when from death I’m free, I’ll sing and joyful be,
          and through eternity, I’ll sing on, I’ll sing on,
          and through eternity I’ll sing on.
          A happy family is but an earlier heaven.
          George Bernard Shaw

            WOW.....

            Every once in a while I run across a hymn or song or chorus that really impacts me. Maybe because I have some close friends (and family) who are going through some real difficulties, this song by the Perrys - Keep On - is just one of those songs. VERY powerful, particularly if you knew the story of the Perrys.

            Are you tired and distressed
            Weary Saint in need of rest
            There are storms you must walk through
            But they won't last they never do
            Keep On, Be Brave,
            Hold Fast, Have Faith,
            Pray Hard, Fear Not,
            Stay Strong, Keep On

            Do not turn left or right
            But straight ahead the cross in sight
            He will guide you safely o'er
            To where troubles come no more
            The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

              We are united in Jesus Christ
              We are the soldiers of the light
              We don't wrestle flesh and blood
              But principalties of the dark
              We do our marching to one beat
              Crushing the enemy under our feet
              We are mighty in our stand
              With God's word in our hand

                Day by day, and with each passing moment,
                Strength I find to meet my trials here;
                Trusting in my Father’s wise bestowment,
                I’ve no cause for worry or for fear.
                He, whose heart is kind beyond all measure,
                Gives unto each day what He deems best,
                Lovingly its part of pain and pleasure,
                Mingling toil with peace and rest.

                Every day the Lord Himself is near me,
                With a special mercy for each hour;
                All my cares He fain would bear and cheer me,
                He whose name is Counsellor and Pow’r.
                The protection of His child and treasure
                Is a charge that on Himself He laid;
                “As thy days, thy strength shall be in measure,”
                This the pledge to me He made.

                Help me then, in every tribulation,
                So to trust Thy promises, O Lord,
                That I lose not faith’s sweet consolation,
                Offered me within Thy holy Word.
                Help me, Lord, when toil and trouble meeting,
                E’er to take, as from a father’s hand,
                One by one, the days, the moments fleeting,
                Till with Christ the Lord I stand.

                  He paved a road on stakes and nails
                  His blood paying a debt that no man in wild'st could ever think to pay.
                  How abundant his patience to save a wretch like me, but in his arms I am his child.
                  A love no one could ever claim to replicate.
                  Oh Lord Jesus how your glory remains. From the pearly gates to Golgotha your glory remains.
                  As I face temptation you stand beside me your burning spirit pushing me in ways alone I can't go. Knowing me in ways O lord only you could know.

                  Who aside you is fit to be called the way? Surely only you lord. Others claim their saviors died but only you died and then raised. In your glory you remain.

                  I see your work within me lord and to be honest I was f'rst afraid. Not knowing if I could make it or if you even cared as I stumbled though I knew you and I felt the tears fade away.

                  As one sho was once your enemy I now appreciate just how far you go to us. To knoxk away the rocken heart and with flesh and hope replace. I can't say enough oh lord about your abundant grace.

                      I don't have one song or hymn that I love the most but here is one that helps me stay focused no matter what my circumstances

                      You Raise Me Up.
                      Josh Groban

                      When I am down, and, oh, my soul, so weary
                      When troubles come, and my heart burdened be
                      Then, I am still and wait here in the silence
                      Until you come and sit awhile with me

                      You raise me up, so I can stand on mountains
                      You raise me up to walk on stormy seas
                      I am strong when I am on your shoulders
                      You raise me up to more than I can be

                      God is Good.

                            O sacred Head, now wounded, with shame and grief weighed down:
                            Now scornfully surrounded with thorns, Thy only crown.
                            O sacred Head, what glory -- what bliss -- till now was Thine!
                            Yet, though despised and gory, I joy to call Thee mine.

                            What Thou, my Lord, hast suffered, was all for sinners’ gain:
                            Mine, mine was the transgression, but Thine the deadly pain.
                            Lo, here I fall, my Savior! ’Tis I deserve Thy place;
                            Look on me with Thy favor, and grant to me Thy grace.

                            What language shall I borrow to thank Thee, dearest friend,
                            For this Thy dying sorrow, Thy pity without end?
                            O make me Thine forever! and should I fainting be,
                            Lord, let me never, never outlive my love to Thee.
                            ~ Russell ("MelMak")

                              In Christ alone my hope is found;
                              He is my light, my strength, my song;
                              This cornerstone, this solid ground,
                              Firm through the fiercest drought and storm.
                              What heights of love, what depths of peace,
                              When fears are stilled, when strivings cease!
                              My comforter, my all in all—
                              Here in the love of Christ I stand.

                              In Christ alone, Who took on flesh,
                              Fullness of God in helpless babe!
                              This gift of love and righteousness,
                              Scorned by the ones He came to save.
                              Till on that cross as Jesus died,
                              The wrath of God was satisfied;
                              For ev’ry sin on Him was laid—
                              Here in the death of Christ I live.

                              There in the ground His body lay
                              Light of the world by darkness slain
                              Then bursting forth in glorious Day
                              Up from the grave He rose again
                              And as He stands in victory
                              Sin's curse has lost its grip on me
                              For I am His and He is mine
                              Bought with the precious blood of Christ

                              No guilt in life, no fear in death
                              This is the power of Christ in me
                              From life's first cry to final breath
                              Jesus commands my destiny
                              No power of hell, no scheme of man
                              Can ever pluck me from His hand
                              Till He returns or calls me home
                              Here in the power of Christ I'll stand!
