You call him petty, you call him a liar, you say he should stop tweeting etc etc. but then you defend his lies, his tweets, and everything he does. The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.

Is it a big deal? In the grand scheme of things, no. But it would have taken very little effort, made Trump look like more than an adolescent playing at being a statesman, and probably would have appealed to some African Americans he's trying to get votes from. It also would have stuck a thumb in the eye of people who insist he's a racist.
But no. He couldn't rise to the challenge we repeatedly saw young kids conquering on TV today.

Look at what happened the day Lewis died. At first liberals criticized Trump for not saying anything; then when Trump sent out a a very nice tweet, liberals responded with indignation that he said anything at all. Some may call me foolish, and some may call me odd

If Trump cured cancer, the headlines would be "Trump puts thousands of researchers out of work - how will they feed their families?"

And let's just shelve the notion of criticism of the president being a bad thing. All presidents get criticized for everything they do, all the time. Trump potentially being criticized for paying his respects to Lewis is not an excuse for not paying those respects. Any implication to the contrary represents cowardice.

He'll be criticized for it, sure. Whether it'll come from "the MSM" is entirely questionable.

Again, Lewis set the tone by attacking Trump and refusing to attend events where Trump was attending, but still, I think Trump should have risen above Lewis' pettiness..... would you call Lewis a coward? The first to state his case seems right until another comes and cross-examines him.
