  • Trump interview with AXIOS

The interviewer in Trump’s AXIOS interview wasn’t even throwing hardball questions at POTUS. All he was doing that journalists up till now haven’t been doing is asking simple follow ups.

At least he didn't say something bizarre about being on cocaine...

Are you denying Biden made a bizarre comment about being tested for cocaine use?

Or you could just...link to it?

            https://www.politico.com/news/2020/0...ve-test-391771

"No, I haven't taken a test. Why the hell would I take a test? Come on, man,” Biden said. “That's like saying to you, before you got on this program if you had taken a test were you taking cocaine or not. What do you think, huh? Are you a junkie?"

Is arguably a dead heat between the two on bizarre comments. Trump's currently leading the pack with the latest interview. America gets what it deserves.

It was not a bizarre comment. He simply posited an equally preposterous question to the reporter.

People just cannot resist distorting, can they?

I disagree. There's no denying it was bizarre in every way that Trump's inarticulate and rambling responses are bizarre. There were a thousand excellent ways to respond to this question.

Then we must agree to disagree. With hindsight we can always think of the perfect riposte. Biden was caught "on the spot" and, probably irritated by the question, responded with a similar attempt at a slur. We know that there is a propensity for both alcohol and cocaine within journalism.

It was clearly racially motivated, and that's how anyone, especially the left would have interpreted it had it been Trump. He used junkie and cocaine (or crack) because the guy who asked was black. It explains why he used the "Come on, man" shtick, because he was trying to be culturally "hip," the same way he addressed Charlemagne the God during his interview.

You are very free with your pronouncements on other people's thought processes and behaviour.

Edited to add. The fact is that whether a journalist is black, white, blue, pink or green, journalism along with other branches of the media and entertainment industry is noted for a propensity towards alcohol and narcotics - cocaine often being the drug of choice. The Thames in London is apparently full of the stuff with the inevitable impact on riverine fauna.

It's not a hunch or conjecture, it's based on a number of things Biden says that are clearly racist (though I will concede he's desperately trying not to be). It's a continual pattern with him, in addition of course to his racist history that is beyond dispute.

If POTUS is claiming that increasing the number of tests done distorts the figures, it seems there's at least a partial truth in that claim whenever the increase in tests happens (as it probably should) in those areas which need it because there are outbreaks; here's an extract from the BBC reporting on UK figures being misleading:

The other key source of data - the cases found by testing - shows numbers have started going up. They are now more than 40% higher than they were in the second week of July on a rolling-seven day average.

But that masks the fact the number of tests being carried out is increasing and being targeted at areas where infection rates are highest.

If you test more, you are likely to find more.

This is a point made by Prof Carl Heneghan, who heads the centre for evidence-based medicine at Oxford University.

He says it is essential to adjust for tests being done and is concerned about what he calls "poor interpretation" of data.

Covid cases, he says, simply aren't rising in any meaningful sense.

To lies, damned lies and statistics add poor understanding of statistics. POTUS might have a point, even if he doesn't have a clue why.

Yeah - increased testing can lead to the conclusion the infection is spreading more when it is not because more cases are uncovered.

It should not be an excuse to limit testing (Trump's approach). You just have to be a bit smarter evaluating the data (scientific approach). We need to get testing sufficiently high with sufficiently fast turnaround to allow it to serve the nation as a means to controlling the pandemic once we have the number of new daily cases to a small enough number we can do contact tracing and quarantine effectively.
My brethren, do not hold your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ with an attitude of personal favoritism. James 2:1

If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not  bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man’s religion is worthless James 1:26

This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; James 1:19
