Most places will charge you the local taxes where you work and where you live. I am charged city taxes because of where I work, and county taxes where I live. There is no escaping taxes.

I've seen plenty of deeds in south Jersey with that clause. Another clause is setting a minimum value on any proposed building to be constructed on the site, thus limiting the buyer to being an an affluent (meaning white) member of society.

Setting a minimum value on proposed buildings being constructed has much more to do with protecting the value of your property than anything else including race. For example if someone put up a trailer park (where you tend to find more whites than blacks) next door that could send the value of your property plummeting.

it's not either or, it's both. The issues of race, crime, and property value are closely coupled in our society. And it is not hard to retain a segregated society just by using wealth as the segregating mechanism.
