about to cry
I know war stinks. I hope when all of this is over, it will have been worth all the sacrifice.
I posted a thread last night with the saddest picture I had seen during the war coverage. This tops it

The link is to a screen capture of Al Jazeera TV footage of the dead US soldiers. It is quite graphic.
It would be sufficient to have dreamed of cows, to have suffered hallucinations involving cows, or merely to have had-without prejudice-"cowish" sense data.

Its no accident that the same place the Scriptures teach that there is a time for war teach there is a time to
cry.

Food for thought: If it is a violation of the Geneva Convention to show those pictures in mass media, for the reasons Cirisme provided, then wouldn't it also be a violation of the Geneva Convention to reproduce those pictures here in this forum? If it is, you might want to take that link down.

Geneva Convention
As far as I know the Geneva Convention pertains to participating countries. I am not a country. Also, the breaking of the convention was by the Iraqi's in filming the soldiers and interviewing them on camera. Showing dead soldiers in the media is not contrary to the Convention. Remember Rwanda?

Re: Geneva Convention
I wasn't complaining about it. I just thought it might be a worthy precaution to look into to. I don't know how far-reaching the rules of the convention apply.Today @ 03:34 PM located here

We are not a televised media source and have not inhumanely treated these people so it in no way pertains to us. For more info you can check out Convention (I) for the Amelioration of the Condition of the Wounded and Sick in Armed Forces in the Field. Geneva, 12 August 1949.
and there is publication of this event made by media sources such Yahoo news I pointed out here .Have you the brain worms?!

Those whose anger might be usefully focused toward catching the perpetrators.
In reaction to Richwine Affair, all right-thinking people are quick to proclaim that they don’t believe in a genetic basis for IQ. They’re much less quick to explain – with any sort of precision – what they actually do believe in. At best, we’re treated to some hand-waving paired with the phrase “social construct.”.

why the pictures
Pictures of war dead are not uncommon to American History. I for one have been deeply stirred by these events. Here I am, a 26 year old father of one, trusting on 19, 20 year old (i know there are older men also) to fight for my freedom. I am saddened, appreciative. If those victims of Sept. 11 are given multiple-millions of dollars for their loss, the families of our war dead should be equally compensated.
I am considering signing up. I know I'm old. Perhaps I'm acting on emotion, but that's all I've got right now."Only friendliness produces friendship. And we must look far deeper into the soul of man for the thing that produces friendliness." G. K. Chesterton
