You know, my mother was a Jew. She hated as a religious act the creation of the Israeli state believing only the Messiah could set up a "new" Jewish state.

There are any number of religious Jews across the whole religious spectrum who feel that the Jewish state is wrong in its fundamental set up. Would you consider THOSE people anti-semites?

Moreover, you seem to expect that Arabs who see this attack on Iraq as an attack on their world-view will not rejoice when US troops are captured? I imagine some US / UK citizens were rejoicing when Iraqi troops were captured, so why would it be ok for them and not for the Arabs.

It's hardly racist. It's just an expression of "Oh, so they like our troops getting captured? Let's see how they like an A-bomb!" Note the icon below it. It denotes that I was rather ticked when I wrote that. Note that I feel the same way about the traitors in San Francisco and the other cities with their anti-US protests.

Cadet, rock on. Some people just don't get that the "peace" movement isn't about peace. If it was, they'd of demonstrated in Baghdad to stop the inhumane policies there. Instead, they went over there to defend a mass murderer. My favorite is that I've been hearing of violent peace protests, which should be an oxymoron.

It is NOT. Saddam is head of the secular socialist Baath Party. So any motivation for siding with Saddam is not because he's pro-Moslem (although it suits him to claim to be), but because he shares their hatred of Jews.

I don't think we will EVER see anything like the way the Arabs rejoiced when innocent civilians were murdered on 11 Sept, or when Saddam bombed Israel during the first installment of the Gulf War.

What has this got to do with Gulf War 2? Or is it simply that you are unable to get your head around the passage of twelve intervening years? The initial post was regarding anything Jewish was about someone being beaten because of their heritage. Your rant was by way of an anecdote from your mum. This really didn't have much to do with anything. Therefore a rant.
