whats the best fundraisers
ok people,
there must be hundreds of fundraising efforts that go on around the world for many and varied diffrent needs.
soooo what are some that you thought were good that you have seen and some that raised heaps of money... and whats some of the worst you have seen.I've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. People love a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

It must be good... nobody would do them if it was bad.

My wife will go to Mexico for the third time, this year, and with three kids going along, the bill is $3800. Honestly, we do MANY KINDS of fund raisers, but none seem to be more effective than getting a list of everyone you know who is a Christian, and writing a letter explaining what you're going to do, and asking for a donation. Last I checked, we'd raised over $1300 from that one letter campaign alone.
Obviously there is more to do, but that is always the most effective.
My wife also sells flowers, cheesecakes, subs, and cookie dough, all of which do quite well.
Our church has given out donation "scratch and give cards" which are like the instant lottery tickets, but the dollars are the amount you give, rather than the amount you win... Those seemed pretty dumb to me.
Car washes also seem like a waste of time, for how much you wind up getting. (Unless you only WANT to raise $200)

cool Muz I havnt actually heard of some of those ideas before

at the moment my daughter is having to raise money towards her year 7 camp and we have to sell boxes of chocolates ... I hate having to sell things to people I always feel like Im ripping them off or something
and at the end of the year the year 7's get sold as slaves in a slave auction(to help start the next years grade 7'S fund start)
only for a day though they do it at school and the kids have to wash teachers cars or help kids with school work etc and its only done in the school so they don't go out of school grounds or anythingI've learned that every day you should reach out and touch someone. And they don't object to using "slavery" in this way?

well we have willing slaves
the teachers and students bid for the grade 7 they want for the day and the kids get out of doing normal school work... they think it's fun.
and hey we have never had real slaves over here
