Jesus Is For Saving

During dinner a few nights ago my father and I were discussing a Bible study I was involved in. The topic was on whether Jesus was actually forsaken on the cross as shown in Matthew 27:46 - And about the ninth hour Jesus cried out with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" that is, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?" And also Mark 15:34 34 - And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

We went round and round about what the meaning of such words and bringing in other examples about the last words of Christ from Luke 23:46 - Then Jesus, calling out with a loud voice, said, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit!" And having said this he breathed his last. Plus John 19:30 - When Jesus had received the sour wine, he said, "It is finished," and he bowed his head and gave up his spirit.

About this time my daughter is trying to say something and is pounding her fist on the kitchen table. We were still deeply going over this subject and my father repeats the main question of the discussion once more; Was Jesus forsaken? And big as life my daughter pipes in "No No No Jesus was for Saving…"
