Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

A Planting of Faith Seeds for the Glory of the LORD
    Today is our Independence/Dependence Day…

In the movie “Independence Day” the actor portraying the President of the United States stood before of gathering of would be freedom fighters and said, “Today we celebrate our independence day.” Today is July 4, 2014 and today we celebrate our Independence Day, a day fought and won not on the movie screen but a day fought and won on the pages of history. A history that was created not by super-heroes but by the strong desire and dedication of people who long for the freedom to chart the outcome of their own individual lives, we the people of the United States of America, people like you and like me.

While today we celebrate our independence we must at the same time never forget we must also celebrate our dependence day. Not dependence on our own abilities as the most powerful nation on earth, not dependence on our own individual abilities but dependence on the God who has adopted us into his own family and given us the ability to be independent.

“God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure. So we praise God for the glorious grace he has poured out on us who belong to his dear Son. He is so rich in kindness and grace that he purchased our freedom with the blood of his Son and forgave our sins. He has showered his kindness on us, along with all wisdom and understanding.” (Ephesians 1:5–8, NLT)

As we go though our celebrations today let each of us stop for a minute and consider how blessed we are to live in a country where we are free to live out our own lives. And at the same time consider how precious the gift of freedom we’ve been given by the God who loves us so much he sent his own Son into our lives to give his life for us so we can be eternally free as well.

    Believe it! Experience it!
    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from His glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:19 NLT)

    Amen Gary!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
