One reason for that might be that for Buddhism, unlike Christianity, we have a lot less solid data on what the original beliefs actually were. There is something like a 400 years gap between Buddha's life (although dates for that vary quite considerably) and the first writings about his teachings. Compare that with Christianity, for which we have abundant and very early documentary evidence as to what Jesus said, did, and taught. No need to assume anything.

No change at all, you just failed to read the previous posts, and focused on the trash and static others posted.

      Nope.
Most definitely yes, Adrift and you have behaved like a troll.

Nonetheless, I will repeat the following, again . . .

My main argument lies in the comparison of the major religions, Judaism, Christianity, Vedic traditions, Hinduism and Buddhism, where the variation within the the traditions of East and West are variable to the point that the differences are as great within religions as between religions. I presented the apophatic view, believed by most Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and Baha'is. You rejected this view as not acceptable based on your view of scripture, but nonetheless it is the predominant view of Judaism based on the Torah, which is roughly equivalent to the OT.

You also persist on the demand that only Christianity and Buddhism be compared and that is unacceptable on my part.[/quote]

Read the OP, Shunya. Christianity cf Buddhism is the topic of this thread. Even the thread title tells us that.
Repeat, repeat repeat. If you want to compare religions in my view and that of the Baha'i Faith you cannot just compare two religions. Accept or go else where.

You have not responded to the problems of comparison of Judaism and apophatic beliefs.

You look really silly* insisting others are going off-topic and then yourself refusing to stick to the topic that was given in the OP.
You look really silly*going off-topic with Adrift and then yourself refusing to stick to the topic that was given in response I gave to the questions posed to me in this thread.

It looks like it is time to drop this thread and present mine in Apologetics 301. I would like Comparative Religions, but atheists are not permitted to post there.

So how exactly are Christian and Buddhist theology related? What exactly are the similarities? It looks to me like you are approaching this from a Baha'i perspective, assuming that the Baha'i view on religions is correct.
First you must respond to the posts concerning apophatic/catophatic beliefs in Judeo Christian tradition, and then we will go on.

Actually, since you and others are insisting on only a Christianity and Buddhism comparison, this thread will dropped like a hot potato. It is actually in the wrong catagory. The next thread on the comparison of religions will appear in Apologetics 301, I would prefer Comparative Religions, but atheists are not premitted there. If you wish to participate fine, If not Adios!!!

Good, so we can be pretty certain that God is just. And I would add that God's sense of justice must correspond to our sense of justice - at least to degrees. If it didn't it would be silly for us to call God just since it would not relate to anything in our experience. It would be meaningless.
