A Holy Life?
Are Christians expected to live a holy life? Do Christians sin each and every day? Please provide Biblical proofs - along with your opinions. Thank you.

Re: A Holy Life?
For sure. Holiness (i.e. perfection) is what God calls us all to live for, and though it is impossible to attain, it's what he expects of believers.

Re: A Holy Life?
We are holy because CHrist is holy, not because of our own actions. Now, our response to receiving holiness should be to pursue sanctification, but we aren't holy because of ourselves or our actions in any way. (Col 1:19-21)
"... engage your brain before you engage your weapon." - Gen. James Mattis, USMC
I don't care how systematic your theology is until you show me how biblical it is.

Yes, we are to be Holy. James 1:4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing.
But it is not a work that we do alone, and in our power."Only friendliness produces friendship. And we must look far deeper into the soul of man for the thing that produces friendliness." G. K. Chesterton

Re: A Holy Life?
Your are quite correct in this. As "new creatures" in Christ, we can resist sin and temptation - by the grace and power of God, working in us. Amen.

How about our being willing to say "Yes" to God?

Ok, I hope this will help:
We know that "Christ died for us while we were still sinners." (Romans 5:8)
If we have come to Christ, we have "now been justified by His blood..." (Romans 5:9).
So before we were Christians, we were sinners and that was before we were justified. Should we go on in daily habitual sin, now that we are Christians?
"What shall we say then? Are we to continue in sin so tha grace may increase? MAY IT NEVER BE! How shall we who died to sin still live in it? (Romans 6:1,2).
So, did we repent when we received Christ? Did we "die" to sin?
As Christians we are to move on from simply being justified, to being sanctified. It is God's way of producing actual righteousness in us who believe. (See Romans 6:1 to 8:39 to read about it in context).
In spite of our past, we whom God has justified (saved) will experience personal holiness/sanctification if we submit ourselves unto God. (see I Co. 6:9-11a; Ti. 1:12,13).
