[ You didn't ask how high the bridge was above the water. The tentacles average thirty to forty feet in length and are pretty substantial - most of the length being about the diameter of a telephone pole until they taper down to a teacup sized point. What ever is is, it are BIG!!

Do an ability check under Bardic Knowledge. -3 - it's not a commonly known critter but I'll give you a chance.]

Siri thinks he's read something about a tentacle creature that is anchored to the bottom of a body of water, usually a moving body, and uses its tentacles to catch whatever passes and eat it. He's not sure of the name but he is sure none of the books mentioned it getting this big!]

[Gades is almost to the other side. Sure you can reach him - as long as you dodge all the tentacle successfully... Realistically, you can shoot the thing but only Gades is where he can try to cut it off.]
