70th Week Of Daniel- Fulfilled Or Yet Future

I have discovered a concept in the expression of 7 weeks and 62 weeks in which the birth of Jesus is fortold to the very day it happened. I no longer believe in a supposed 70th week of Daniel as expressed by 7 and 62 equaling 69 with one last week to be fulfilled.

This concept is tied to several statements in scripture about the 70 year captivity and the reason for it. You can find the 70 year reference in Daniel 9, Jeremiah 25 & 29 (don't have references in front of me but I believe these are correct chapters), 2 Chronicles 36:20-21, and Zechariah. I will use 2 Chronicles 36:20-21 as the basis for my theory.
"He took into exile in Babylon those who had escaped from the sword, and they became servants to him and to his sons until the establishment of the Kingdom of Persia, to fulfill the word of the LORD by the mouth of Jeremiah, until the land had made up for its SABBATHS. All the days that it lay desolate it kept SABBATH, to fulfill SEVENTY YEARS." (nrsv)

These SABBATHS are a one for one penalty for every SABBATH YEAR not celebrated under the kings of Judah and Israel.

I would say the vast majority of Futurist hold to the 70 weeks of being weeks as interpeted as 7 years so that 70 x 7 = 490 years. Well I have a major problem with this view. It is incorrect. On has to study the book of Leviticus to understand the sabbath years. The method above does not count the jubilee year which starts in the 49th year (which itself is the seventh sabbatical year) on feast of atonement (Yom Kippur). It is my contention that indeed you have to count the Jubilee year as a sabbath year. Which gives you eight sabbaths every fifty years. (Six regular sabbaths, one short sabbath 7th ends in the seventh month on the ninth day, and one long sabbath year the jubilee starts in 49th year seventh month on tenth day, See Lev Chap 25)

On main reason I believe you have to count for the Jubilee sabbath year lies in the same counting for the Feast of Pentecost also know as the Feast of Weeks. It is the feast following the feast of firstfruits during the Feast of Unleavened Bread. See Lev Chap 23 The feast is celebrated on the fiftieth day after seven weeks of regular weekly sabbath days. Again it is considered a sabbath (one of the three high sabbaths that every male should particpate in during a given year). So you have eight sabbaths in fifty days. Just as you would have eight sabbath years in fifty years if the jubilee is counted.

See the following link to see chart of years

      http://us.f2.yahoofs.com/bc/4089e1c4...LqWKBBhYr2F3qq

From the charts one can readily see that it takes exactly 442 years to get 70 sabbath years.

      62 total regular Sabbath years
      8 total Jubilee Sabbath years
      70 total Sabbath years

The expression of Gabriel to Daniel of seven and threescore and two is an expression of time using the concept of jubilee to measure time. Gabriel is showing to Daniel that at the moment he is talking to him there would be 440 years six months and nine days to the birth of Christ. Gabriel subtracted one long jubilee year out of the equation. for further on in his statement Gabriel confirms he is using this method as measure of time is that after 62 (Not 69)
the messiah will be cut-off. Gabriel employs the 62 as an expression of the total 62 series of sabbatical years.

What is really interesting I can tie recorded history and Gospel accounts to show that this method is correct. This method clearly puts birth of Jesus on
Feast of Atonement in 5 BC. Which for me clears up verses 9:24 through 25.

I would really be interested in what others think about this method of timing.
It clearly abloishes a supposed 70th week of Daniel or a definite seven year period. However I still have not reconciled what implications this has on Daniel 9:26-27 in regards to yet future or fulfilled as most preterist (I think) believe.

      Shalom
