    I've seen a large wild dog get hit with a blast of double ought buckshot at relatively close range that knocked the dog over (sent it rolling) but then the dog got up and ran off seemingly none the worse for it. Apparently its thick matted fur actually stopped the buckshot!

      I have read of a brownie being hit by a load of double ought at about 10 to 15 ft. It was supposedly pretty much in two pieces.

              We are talking about defending oneself from a bear. Why would anyone shoot a baby deer?

                    I'm talking about those some of those who go out hunting using shotguns loaded with slugs. I had a neighbor who had a 2 point deer head on his wall as if it were some sort of trophy.
