Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
Just spent about a week and a half in bed, first with the flu, then with a sinus and ear infection.
Got 2 Tom Clancy books read, and and a third one that made such an impression on me I can't remember the title or author.
The rest of the time was spent curled up on the couch crocheting and watching Top Gear.

Just finished James McGrath's The Burial of Jesus. Pretty good; I thought McGrath conceded a little too much ground when he came to defending the resurrection, but it's still a good book.
Working my way through Defending the Resurrection and Good Calories, Bad Calories.CS Lewis, Mere ChristianityThere is no need to be worried by facetious people who try to make the Christian hope of 'Heaven' ridiculous by saying they do not want 'to spend eternity playing harps'. The answer to such people is that if they cannot understand books written for grown-ups, they should not talk about them.

I'm half-way through Recollections of Death, by Michael B.Sabom. It's a fairly old book (1982) so it might be a bit dated, but it's still a very good and interesting read. Definitely recommended if you're interested in NDE's, though you might want to read some more recent books on the subject too. Light and Death, also by Sabom, which I recently finished, for example.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I was reviewing the lyrics to "John the Revelator," an old gospel blues song written by "Blind Willie Johnson." No doubt the words to the song came by revelation to Blind Willie. They are remarkably prescient, and accurate in how they apply to the Seven Seals of the Book of Revelation. Interestingly, Blind Willie Johnson was a preacher and singer/songwriter who recorded his music, between 1923 and his passing, in 1945. He lived, and preached, and died, in Beaumont, Texas, only about seven or eight miles from where I live, in Vidor, Texas. He died 10 years before I was born. Johnson wrote, "(Keep Your Lamp) Trimmed and Burning," along with several other classic gospel blues tunes you might have heard of. The most famous of his songs, was "Nobody's Fault But Mine," which was later recorded and performed by Led Zeppelin, though they butchered the lyrics. The song is often erroneously attributed to Robert Johnson, another classic blues artist. The cemetery where he was buried, Blanchette Cemetery, was recently discovered in Beaumont. That's right, the location of the cemetery was lost to history and neglect. His actual grave site remains unknown. The two researchers who discovered the location of the cemetery, also erected a monument to Blind Willie Johnson near the entrance to the graveyard.
"Who's that writing? John the Revelator, wrote the Book of the Seven Seals."Last edited by TyRockwell; March 12th 2012 at 02:53 AM.

I like that one.
I'm reading Sherwood by Parke Godwin. It's a retelling of Robin Hood, set during the reigns of William of Normandy, William Rufus, and Henry Beauclerc, instead of Richard the Lionheart. It's the first of a duology, the second book being Robin and the Sheriff.Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

I'm currently reading The Resolution for Men by Stephen and Alex Kendrick with Randy Alcorn as part of a bible study called Honor Begins at Home based around the movie Courageous. It's a great study and a great book for men. They also have the Resolution for Women in circulation as well.
I love landscape photography because I am able to capture and share God's beautiful creation.

Just finished Ehrman's new book. It's going to be fun to watch the skeppies turn on Dr. Bart for attacking mythicism.

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'
