"The Worst Hard Time" by Timothy Eagan
"Freedom from Fear: The American People in Depression and War, 1929-1945" by David Kennedy......this book is thick enough to be used as a weapon.
"Down & Out in the Great Depression: Letters from the Forgotten Man" by Robert McElvaine

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I am currently reading The Gambler by Fyodor Dostoyevsky. The copy I am reading also contains two other short stories, Bobok, and A Nasty Story. I also started reading The Blackwell Companion to Natural Theology by William Lane Craig and J. P. Moreland, eds. last week whilst waiting in Heathrow airport.
I also bought recently The Prince and The Discourses by Niccolo Machiavelli and the Bhagavad Gita, as well as Western Philosophy by David Papineau, ed. and Crusades by Thomas F. Madden, ed..Crab Battle
noun
Words uttered to incite an all in brawl. Whoever says the words 'Crab Battle' will usually be spear tackled to the ground by anyone else present, and all parties will then engage in a fight to the death.
Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision. Existence taken for granted, absolute. Possessed, owned, controlled by the common sense-infected rational gaze, onward forever we walk among the ignorant. Never stray from the common lines.
My blog . My book. My YouTube channel.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
About to finally continue with Mounce's Greek. Also decided to quit How to Stop the Pain after a few chapters since it starts off and hinges on some misinterpreted Scripture and the author's own arbitrary definition of what "judgement" is, as well as a few too many times where the author contradicted himself for me to trust him.
The useful stuff in the chapters also doesn't go into enough detail to give the reader solid understanding, mostly just sound bites of advice instead, while there are other books out there that have more meat to them. The useful stuff was also stuff I already knew so I just personally don't need to read this book anyway. Nor do I really recommend because there is better stuff out there.
About to also start Recovery of Your Inner Child: The Highly Acclaimed Method for Liberating Your Inner Self
by Lucia Capacchione. Looks interesting, we'll see what happens."Everybody wants to go to heaven. They just don't want God to be there when they get there." Paul Washer
