Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I have the e-book version, which contains both volumes in one. It's on my to-read list. Given that there are books on my to-read list that I have had for 10 years+, it may take me awhile until I get round to it.
Crab Battle
noun
Words uttered to incite an all in brawl. Whoever says the words 'Crab Battle' will usually be spear tackled to the ground by anyone else present, and all parties will then engage in a fight to the death.
Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision. Existence taken for granted, absolute. Possessed, owned, controlled by the common sense-infected rational gaze, onward forever we walk among the ignorant. Never stray from the common lines.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
The Christian vs. The University: Fighting the Battle of Ideas on the College Campus by Garrison (Gary) Cattel - written by the man known to Penn State students as the Willard Preacher, this is an anti-Screwtape Letters of sorts; written in the same style, it is advice directed to a struggling Christian college student by a kindly uncle. Recommended.
A Protestant Pastor Looks at Mary by Charles Dickson - written by an ecumenicaly-minded Lutheran minister; recommended with caution, as it fully endorses Roman Catholic mariology (which IMO goes too far).
The Last Sacrifice by Hank Hanegraaff and Sigmund Brouwer - preterist-flavored historical fiction (book 2 of a trilogy).

I'm reading A Clockwork Orange, but I don't exactly know why. One of those 'classics' everyone must read, I suppose.
I am more or less around.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I just finished "The Lacuna" by Barbara Kingsolver. An exellent read. I don't read a lot of novels and have always had a bias against female writers for no good reason, but picked this one up on a lark and couldn't put it down.

I am reading "The Eye of the World" by Robert Jordan. It is a fantasy novel in the vein of "Lord of the Ring." It's a very enjoyable read, and the first volume of a series. I recommend it.
The End From The Beginning by Ty Aldrich is available at www.lulu.com/content/2614100 It is NOW AVALABLE through Barnes and Noble in ebook format.

I've read the entire series... apart from the last book. That's still on my 'to read' list.

His books completing that series. Based on the dialogue and character actions/thoughts in those books (which he described as his own rather than an attempt at emulating RJ), I'm not at all interested in reading his other material.
Now reading:
A History of Christianity in Asia: Beginnings to 1500 by Samuel Moffett
Early Christian Attitudes toward Images by Steven Bigham
An Acceptable Time by Madeleine L'Engle
American Lion: Andrew Jackson in the White House by Jon Meacham

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I'll be honest, the later books co-written by Sanderson are just as good as those written by the main man himself.

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I finished reading Ferguson and Woodruff here (well, the seventh volume of the latter; still two more to go in the fall). I also added and then finished Fr. Alexander Schmemann's For the Life of the World: Sacraments and Orthodoxy. I also finished reading William Rittenhouse and Moses Dissinger: Two Eminent Pennsylvania Germans, containing two biographies written by Milton Rubincam and Thomas R. Brendle, respectively. In addition, I've added a few more books:
- Unpublished Revelations of the Prophets and Presidents of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Vol 1), compiled by Fred C. Collier
- Justification and Variegated Nomism, Vol. 1: The Complexities of Second Temple Judaism, edited by D. A. Carson, Peter T. O'Brien, and Mark A. Seifrid
- Introducing Theologies of Religions by Paul F. Knitter
- The Mormon Concept of God: A Philosophical Analysis by Francis J. Beckwith and Stephen E. Parrish
- Evolutionary Creation: A Christian Approach to Evolution by Denis O. Lamoreux
- John Wesley on Religious Affections: His Views on Experience and Emotions and Their Role in the Christian Life and Theology by Gregory S. Clapper
- Jacob Albright and His Co-Laborers (1883) by Reuben Yeakel
"If God has given [his people] such joy now, joy in their faith, in their hope, in love, in the truth of his scriptures, what kind of joy is he preparing for them at the end? If he feeds them like this on the journey, how will he feast them in their homeland?"--Augustine of Hippo
"It cannot be that the people should grow in grace unless they give themselves to reading. A reading people will always be a knowing people."--John Wesley
"Wherever men are still theological there is still some chance of their being logical."--G. K. Chesterton
