That wouldn't be physically possible. You either mean Utumno, Angband or the Halls of Mandos.
Crab Battle
noun
Words uttered to incite an all in brawl. Whoever says the words 'Crab Battle' will usually be spear tackled to the ground by anyone else present, and all parties will then engage in a fight to the death.
Reality untouchable, transparent, invisible to our fixed, restricted fields of vision. Existence taken for granted, absolute. Possessed, owned, controlled by the common sense-infected rational gaze, onward forever we walk among the ignorant. Never stray from the common lines.

I have now written Rational Gaze's name into the Tolkien's Book of Life with the blood of Feanor, First High King of the Noldor, since he has proven that he is a Tolkien Nerd.
And it should be noted that Tolkien said Morgoth was "of man-size or a bit larger". He's not the towering behemoth you see in artwork.

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'
'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'

Haven't been able to start "Foundations" yet. I began The Water Margin (sort of medieval Chinese Robin Hood) last night, so I might read that concurrently.

Father Elijah - An Apocalypse by Michael D. O'Brien
It is a novel, with the main character a Carmelite priest, called to the Vatican because of his experience in Biblical Archaeology, and his stand against the Nazis in WWII Germany.
He finds himself in the middle of Last Days events, while most of the world, Christian or not, has no idea what is going on is right out of Daniel and Revelation.
I heartily recommend it, though I am only half-way through its nearly six hundred pages. It isn't overly preachy, and the author states that it is not representative of Catholic eschatology. The book is wonderfully written, and should be considered a classic work.
Parden my saying so, but it is almost as though he read an early version of my own book, though not likely.

Father Elijah - An Apocalypse by Michael D. O'Brien was (c) 1996 Ignatius Press, the same year as my first one. So, I was not influenced by his book.
I was unaware of his book, and he was probably unaware of mine.Last edited by TyRockwell; August 11th 2010 at 01:40 AM.

Finished The Kite Runner. Well done, so true to life that you could almost literally feel what was happening, like you're experiencing the story first hand. And great story, one that accurately portrays the conviction of sin, and the discomfort of burying it. Best part:

Re: What Are You Currently Reading?
I'm in the middle of Julian by Gore Vidal. It is absolutely fantastic, especially if you're a history buff.
It's basically an exchange about Julian the Apostate between some old pagan scholars who can see Christianity approaching total dominance while their own traditions fall away. The letters do read a bit like ancient correspondence and it's fun to see some of my favorite historical figures (like Basil the Great and Gregory of Nazianzus) imagined as scruffy young students. Some really quotable lines in there as well.

Coincidentally, I found Kite Runner's quasi-sequel in the thrift store across the street, about 10 minutes after I just finished KR, so I'll start on A Thousand Splendid Suns probably right away.
