Re: Re: I am
Unbiblical huh? I think that's an accusation that you may want to clarify as your opinion, as there are several here who are premill.Yesterday @ 07:08 PM post located here

I think you should give up premillennialism because it is so clearly unbiblical, not just because you're Reformed

Re: Re: Re: I am
Everything I say is my opinion. I realise that there are some people who are still premillennialists. The numbers are falling, true, but I know they re still there. However, somebody asked if they should give up Premillennialism because they have become Reformed. I was simply saying that you should only give up an eschgatological viewpoint because it's unbiblical (as I think premillennialism is). If you took offense to that, well.... welcome to theological pluralism. You won't always agree with what other people say on this forum, but they are unlikely to be apologetic about that.Today @ 01:49 AM post located here

I am not a preterist.
I used to be a dispy premillenialist because Hagee made such a convincing argument for it.
I personlly don't find any reason to believe in pre-trib outside of dispy premillenialism except pure conjecture.
Therefore, I am a futurist post trib."Whenever the devil harasses you, seek the company of men or drink more, or joke and talk nonsense, or do some other merry thing. Sometimes we must drink more, sport, recreate ourselves, and even sin a little to spite the devil, so that we leave him no place for troubling our consciences with trifles. We are conquered if we try too conscientiously not to sin at all. So when the devil says to you: do not drink, answer him: I will drink, and right freely, just because you tell me not to."

Ok revision, no rapture, to much baggage with that term. Resurrection, general, to be specific, is my final answer.

I voted other because my views show a view of 3 things. Physical, Spiritual, Historical. I know these views are not popular but I see reason to them all...

Re: Rapture
I'm solidly pre-trib. Waalvord, Pentecost, Swindoll, Jeremiah, McArthur, Hendricks Rule!
If you read history you will find that the Christians who did most for the present world were precisely those who thought most about the next. It is since Christians have largely ceased to think of the other world that they have become so ineffective in this. C.S. Lewis

Metaphor?
So where do I fit if I think that Revelation is not meant to be taken in any way literally?
That Revelation is full of metaphor's and is only intended to be understood through those? That Revelation is a wonderful example of Apocalyptic Literature and as such must be understood as such?"We confuse freedom of religion with freedom of the church, accepting the assumption that the latter is but a specification of the former. We thus become tolerant allowing our convictions to be relegated to the realm of the private." ~Stan the man.(Hauerwas)
"What He really hates is the crap that gets carried out in his name. Wars. Bigotry. Televangelism." --Rufus the 13th Apostle.

At one time, I would have been firmly planted in the pre-trib section. However, doing exegectical work in Matt. 24 (please don't do that for a class on Matthew, trust me:), I found that the pre-trib route is impossible to swallow if at all.
Therefore, still being completely unconvinced of amill, postmill, and any form of peterist, I believe in the pre-wrath view.
BTW: One can be reformed and hold to the Biblical understanding a.k.a. premill. Just ask Wayne Grudem.

August 19th 2003, 08:24 PM #45No, I have not had the chance to read it. I based my transfer of position more to the exegetical study, thoughts on redemptive history, and the question, "Why would God pour his wrath upon the bride to His Son, whom has completely paid for their sin on the cross?"Today @ 12:59 PM post located here
