hey nebu,Exodus 4:1-5:
1Then Moses answered, "But behold, they will not believe me or listen to my voice, for they will say, 'The LORD did not appear to you.'" 2The LORD said to him, "What is that in your hand?" He said, "A staff." 3And he said, "Throw it on the ground." So he threw it on the ground, and it became a serpent, and Moses ran from it. 4But the LORD said to Moses, "Put out your hand and catch it by the tail"--so he put out his hand and caught it, and it became a staff in his hand-- 5"that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you."
maybe this isn't the answer you're looking for; but it seems to me Moses didn't have much to do with it. he was just following god's directions. it was god who accomplished it. how? i couldn't tell ya. but why? he gave this as a sign...is in verse 5: "that they may believe that the LORD, the God of their Fathers, the God of Abraham, the GOd of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has appeared to you."
sorry i can't be more help.
be blessed,

Answer ; When reading the correct translation of Exodus 4 ; 3 , You will see that the Aramic / Hebrew word used for '' Serpent '' In this quote is '' Nakhash '' is translated to mean '' Whisperer ''
Exodus 4 ;3
< Wa > And he < Aw - mar > said < Shaw - lak > throw it on that part of the < Eh ' - rets > planet earth < Wa > and he < Shaw - lak > throw it on that part of the < Eh'-rets > planet earth < wA > and it < Haw - Yaw > became a < Naw - khawsh > whisperer serpent < Wa > and < Mo - sheh > Moses < Noos > from < Faw -neew > faceing befote it .
And he said throw it on that part of the planet earth ,And he throwit on that part of the planet earth and it became , A whispering /serpent ; And Moses ran from it facing him .
You all know that '' Serpent '' or Snakes do not whisper they '' Hiss ''. The only creature on earth that '' Whisper '' Are human beings . Now ask yourself ; So when the '' Rod '' was transformed , Did it yrun into a '' Serpent or a Human ?

I'm not sure I follow you.
You're telling me the Aramaic/Hebrew word translated as "serpent" in my KJV is "nakhash," Strong's number 5175. I've understood this word to be an onomatopoeia for hiss.
The word "nakhash" is an ordinary word for snake. Are you proposing that some other Hebrew word for snake was the more ordinary? The other snake words in the Bible I know of are 8577 "tanniyn," monster; and 8314 "saraph" burning or poisonous.
You say "nakhash" also means "whisperer." And then you say because snakes hiss, "nakhash" no longer means "snake"?
Do you have analysis of why a snake/whisperer miracle in Exodus 4:3 is followed by the leprosy miracle?
Or maybe some cool drama comment about how in Pharoah's court, the rod turns into a tanniyn, land monster?
What does this buy you, that the snake is a person?

Re: puzzled
First you should look up the history of King James Ok . And know that your Bible as you say was Written In Aramic / Hebrew , And Not In Greek Nor Latin Two Language That Yashua Didn't Speak . So In Order To Get The True Meaaning Of The Scriptures One Must Get The Meaning From The Language That Yashua Spoke Which Was Aramic / Hebrew , This Way One Doesn't Have To Play These Word Game . When They Don't Want To Accept Some One Else Version .
Al Khannaas in Arabic for '' The Whisperer '' It is the same word '' Nakhash in Aramic / Hebrew as found in Genesis 3 ; 1 , Under the word '' Serpent '' . Al Khannaas , Son of Shakhar and Mylitta , was from '' The Seed of The Reptilian Species ,
Taneen or Taneem was a lizard Serpent that is Referred to as a Reptilian like Creature , That stooderect like A Man . It can be Compared to the Komodo Dragon , that still Exist Today . In The Indonesia . Taneen was The Queen Of The Beasts . Taneen Was Eve's Gift . The Eloheem Anat , who was the Daughter of Udum and Mami . These creatures such as Taneen , Became extinct when the plan of The Second meteorite shower was completed , It succeeded and wiped out two - thirds of the inhabitants of the Planet Earth by way of a thick dust cloud blocking the Sun's Light , The Meteorite Shower killed most of the Human Beings and The Dinosaurs who were referred to as The Great Dragons = Aramic / Hebrew Taneen .
Al . Khannaas is The Arabic for ''The Whisperer '' It is the same word '' Nakhash in Aramic / Hebew as found in Genesis 3; 1 , Under the word '' Serpent . Al Khannaas , Son of Shakhar and Mylitta . was from The Seed of The Reptilian Speacies and was orginally from Titon ( Saturn )

Re: Question If I May .
The New Testament was written down in Greek, wether or not Jesus spoke Aramaic or Hebrew. The earliest extant commentaries on the NT are in Greek. In addition, because of the septuagint, the greek translation of the Old Testament completed in alexandria by greek speaking Jews, we have a good comparative insight into the meanings of Greek and Hebrew. The septuagint is like a rosetta stone of biblical interpretation.

Re: Question If I May .
Other arguments aside, this was a common trick of the ancient magicians using a trained snake. Whether Moses had assisstence on this one is open to question, but as the scripture points out it was not very convincing.

I'm just wondering why nobody got to it before I did. Oh wait, you mean they wanted a serious discussion?

Well then, how about transubstantation...? What D&D spell could cause wine & bread to change into Christ's blood & body...? Yep, that's a toughy...!

You do not even need D&D. The Italians turn a lot of things into wine including water.

Hmmm, not sure. It's been awhile since I played. I can't think of a spell right off hand, but I think a Spoon of Stirring might do it, or something along those lines.

Re: Question If I May .
It's an old magic trick, still done in some parts of the world today. He hypnotized a snake and it became rigid, so that it appeared as a stave in his hand to anyone who wasn't looking too close. When he threw it on the ground it woke up and began to slither. This is obvious as the Pharoah wasn't very impressed with this and summoned his ministers, who did the exact same trick.
