      DJ At Live Events

I want to set up a DJ in a live environment and was wondering if y'all had any suggestions. We already have a bunch of music we can legally play on the network(I'm pretty sure, but Matt hasn't answered my email yet)... we even have the computer all set up and ready to go, all we'll have to do is pull it up on the soundboard and push it to the speakers. So, we're pretty much set.

I just want to know the best way to set this up on the DJ's end. Winamp? MusicMatch? iTunes? Windows Media Player? (:puke:) Which one's easiest in this situation? I'd like to be able to jump around the entire music collection fairly easily, but being able to create and save tons of playlists is a must.

I'm thinking Winamp's library might be best here, though iTunes looks interesting even though I haven't really used it before.

      Suggestions would be great...

Hrmn... WinAmp is the best one for cheap, fast, and easy. I used to set about 15 or 20 min worth of music then play around from there. Not pro by any strech of the imagination, but the work camp didn't seem to mind.

iTunes's library is the easiest to navigate around quickly. Creating PlayLists can get combersome as I can't find an easy way to drag songs around. I've also not had a chance to play with their Party Shuffle either. Though it seems that you can set the Party Shuffle's source as a play list then manually move songs around, so I looks like that would be easy enough.

I wouldn't touch WMP with a ten foot pole.

MM Jukebox might be a good choice too.

It's a little quicker to navigate than Winamp even when you have a huge library.

I like Music Match juke box to unfortunelty for some reason it doesnt' seem to be able to play the latest STR shows without them garbled. it's got to be MM because i can hear them on Real player and WMP without the garble.

I'm really liking iTunes, I might replace Winamp with iTunes as my default mp3 player. I'll probably hook the DJ up with iTunes.

      Thanks for your feedback, guys.
