Here is my new project. I am going to build it with a muslin first to try to get something that really fits. I saw a dress form today at Joanne's but I don't have the funds to buy it.

I am still working this one - the muslin trial run. Its a good thing since Ihave already made some mistakes to learn from.

Still working on the muslin, just not much time. However, I think I have decided one thing - the plaid fabric picked out is not going to work. I have no experience with matching up plaid, and this has way too many pieces as a first try. So when I am done with the muslin I will have to look through my fabric stash or go get something else.

I am actually thinking a hawaiin print might be fun. Or polka dots. Solid just isn't my thing. Unless I do a solid dress with patterned pleat insets or vice versa.

Boy, I am so glad I did the muslin but I am having my doubts whether this whole thing is going to work out. This is my new foray into altering a pattern.

Here is the muslin with some marks that show me where I need to add some room, take away some space at the shoulders, and to remind me to gusset the sleeves.

I have altered the pattern and cut out the pieces. Yeah, I know I am slow, but I have so little time.

And just started on it again. I want it for Macworld. I have been going on a vintage pattern buying spree as well.

It's getting there. My body shape is very atypical and I had to do a LOT of alterations. It will be done by next weekend. I have a jacket I need to make too before Macworld. It matches my laptop bag which matches my purse which matches my camera cases which matches a scarf I found.
