Re: My Big Bad Sewing thread
I don't think so... it is amazing how much fabric is needed for skirts. A scalloped selvage? Usually the selvage is good for nothing for it has zero give.

It's actually a finished edge but it's where the selvage should be. Yeah, I was thinking that as well.

I am such a dork. The cutting layout was on the pattern tissue and I threw it out, so I have to buy another copy of the pattern to get the layout.

Re: My Big Bad Sewing thread
That happened to me once, only it was the sewing instructions. I phoned the store I bought the pattern from, and they gave me the missing instructions from another pattern, without charge.
They said they could order one from the pattern company to replace the one that they gave me.

Patterns at Joann's are usually pretty cheap, I will chalk it up to lesson learned. I have never sewn a Burda pattern before, it was a thing. I feel like an idiot.

You shouldn't feel like an idiot. It's obvious that at least 2 of us in the world have done the same thing.
And I am pretty sure we are not alone.

I've never done that...
Of course, I don't sew by pattern all that much, either...
Oh, I got another 2 1/2/ yards of that material I like (it was the remainder of the bolt). 6 1/2 yards oughta be good ta go!
Now I gotta find a pattern for the neckline I want - standard T-tunic it ain't!
I can't decide which I hate worse, facings or gathering....

I can't control myself! I went to the store to get a replacement pattern, and ended up buying that pattern PLUS another one, PLUS two more bolts of fabric.

Re: My Big Bad Sewing thread
When you say you buy a "bolt" of fabric, do you literally mean the entire bolt, or just some yardage?
And I have to say, it's a good thing you aren't a quilter. Because it is hard to resist buying some fabric every time one enters the fabric store as a normal quilter, but one with your, shall we say, obsession, would wreak havoc!

Re: My Big Bad Sewing thread
I mean both actually. It is just yardage, but I tend to buy only clearance fabric and buy what's left on the bolt.
Here is my newest project and fabric. I cut it out today. I am hoping to finish it fast for a special event hubby and I are attending, but I am not sure I can do it. Otherwise he has to buy me a new dress. Poor me.Nochyu mokraya ptitsa nikogda ne letaet.

Very nice fabric! And a nice pattern, as well.

Re: My Big Bad Sewing thread
I wear dresses more than half of the time. Four at of five days at work, I will wear a dress pretty much. I prefer them to pants.
