Study Room Guidelines

Ok it isn't so quiet in here but our resident librarian will ensure that there is good discussion on literature, prose, poetry, etc. You may also post sermons, notes, and the like as long as it is not copyrighted material and within reason of the post length regulation.

We encourage you to take a lose look at the threads and offer honest and useful input. This forum is a place where we discuss literature of any media, as well as personal creations by some of our own wordsmiths. Debate is encouraged, but we often find ourselves relaxing here.

Blast the children in other nations into eternity, or limbless misery as they lay crippled from "OUR" bombers! This does not jell." - Leonard Ravenhill

                        • One or other of the Wheel of Time books, I'm listening to them one after the other in audiobook form so I don't actually know which one I'm on. When one ends, the next automatically starts.

I don't know if it counts as "reading", but I am listening to Dr. Heiser's podcast about the Bible. I'm on episode 104 out of 160.

                            • Abaddon's Gate by James S.A. Corey - third book in the Expanse series. Audiobook. I started listening to the series all over again when the Sci-Fi channel started the series The Expanse. The TV series follows the main plot pretty closely but has a lot of "shortcuts" - they have created a few extra characters here and there to move the plot along faster, or changed a few things to make things clearer quicker than in the book. Basically the first two seasons covered the first book and part of the second. There are currently 6 books and two more in the works:

                              1 Leviathan Wakes
                              2 Caliban's War
                              5 Nemesis Games
                              6 Babylon's Ashes

                              upcoming:
                              7. Persepolis Rising 2017
                              8. Unknown forthcoming 2018
                              9. Unknown 2019

Also fun fact: The Expanse apparently take place in the same universe as "The Martian" - a ship called the "Mark Watney" out of Mars is mentioned in Babylon's Ashes. (Mark Watney was the guy stranded on Mars in the movie/book The Martian)
