Study Room Guidelines

Ok it isn't so quiet in here but our resident librarian will ensure that there is good discussion on literature, prose, poetry, etc. You may also post sermons, notes, and the like as long as it is not copyrighted material and within reason of the post length regulation.

We encourage you to take a lose look at the threads and offer honest and useful input. This forum is a place where we discuss literature of any media, as well as personal creations by some of our own wordsmiths. Debate is encouraged, but we often find ourselves relaxing here.

      • I just finished Persuasive Pro-Life by Trent Horn and I'm nearly done with The Plantagenets by Dan Jones, but I've picked back up on my Hunger Games fanfiction so I'm rereading that now. I'm also in the middle of The Family Romanov: Murder, Rebellion, and the Fall of Imperial Russia by Candace Fleming and The Kingdom of the Cults by Walter Martin on audio but it's been a while since I've listened.

Most recently for my classes I read The Challenge of Jesus by NT Wright and Inspiration and Authority by Paul J. Achtemeier.

Christology in Cultural Perspective: Marking Out the Horizons by Colin J. D. Greene - don't much recommend this, as I find I'm scribbling plenty of contrary notes throughout, but it is confirming my rejection of modern/post-modern Christologies.
The Dragon Waiting by John M. Ford
Freedom & Necessity by Steven Brust and Emma Bull - this was a tough read, given that the protagonists were avowed socialists (Max Engels figures prominently). Well-written, though.
The Meaning of the Dead Sea Scrolls: Their significance for Understanding the Bible, Judaism, Jesus, and Christianity by James VanderKam and Peter Flint

I read that a couple years ago. I'm not sure what to make of Dr. Jenkins.

                              • Does anyone here track how many books they read in a year? My wife came across some challenge to read 52 books in a year which, for us, isn't much of a challenge.
                                I'm not here anymore.
