Study Room Guidelines

Ok it isn't so quiet in here but our resident librarian will ensure that there is good discussion on literature, prose, poetry, etc. You may also post sermons, notes, and the like as long as it is not copyrighted material and within reason of the post length regulation.

We encourage you to take a lose look at the threads and offer honest and useful input. This forum is a place where we discuss literature of any media, as well as personal creations by some of our own wordsmiths. Debate is encouraged, but we often find ourselves relaxing here.

It's widely considered one of his weakest efforts. I have to agree. There are still kernels of interest though.

              The former, of course.
Finished this the other day. The conclusion that Russia interfered in the 2016 US Presidential Elections is based on two things: (1) that the US 'intelligence community' had "high confidence" that the Russians were behind the hacking of the DNC, DCCC, etc. and (2) the Democratic Party hired a company to help secure their network, and that company said that it was the Russians.

Nobody in the Trump campaign conspired with the Russian government, but a bunch of people committed perjury by lying to the special counsel's office and to the FBI, one guy committed a whole ton of fraud and acted as an unregistered agent for Ukraine, Turkey, and apparently Israel. However, no actual evidence is described that explain why it was concluded that the Russians interfered in the US elections. So, basically, we have no real way of knowing if it was, in fact, the Russians or not, since the US intelligence community is about as reliable as a used car salesman.

Yeah, I went through the highlights - but the whole thing was a boring slog so...

Back to socialism - not boring, just slow going!

Not written from a Christian perspective. The author, annoyingly, goes out of his way to not capitalize God (i.e. "The trip to Hippo was more precisely focused on the Roman bureaucrat he hoped to win for god.", pg 24)
