4. Mario Mario from lots of games - who can beat a name like that?
3. Pacman (and family) - no other vg character has gobbled up so many quarters dots.
2. Kefka from Final Fantasy 3/6 - best bad-guy lines. Ever. "You all sound like chapters out of a bad self-help book!"
1. Minsc (and Boo, for what is Minsc without Boo and Boo without Minsc?) from Baldur's Gate I and II - best good-guy lines. Ever. "Evil, meet my sword! Sword, meet eviiiil!!!"

To make this hard, I'll only pick one Nintendo character.

1. Samus Aran. She became much cooler after the two Metroid Prime games.
2. Sergeant Johnson. Master Chief may be cool, but he doesn't compare to Sarge. "Oh, I know what the ladies like."
3. The Ninja, from Metal Gear Solid. Especially the remake on GCN.
4. I must agree with Jinx about Minsc (and Boo!). Great characters for a fantastic RPG.
