'Tis a good package! I only wish there was a way to turn off the dictionary tool tip lookups when you leave your mouse over a word.

Now before you take the plunge! You should know that most of their material is available online in many and various places, I see it at almost every Bible site I've visited, though not all of it.

But it is kind of nice to have it on the computer, instead of seeing "waiting for xyz.com" for page after page, and they have a fast search function for the notes as well as the Bible texts.

      Blessings,
      Lee

True, most of resources are public domain (free to copy and distribute), and yeah, I agree, it is kind of nice to have copies on a home pc. Besides, if I should ever not be able to afford an internet connection, or if I am using a laptop without an internet connection, I will still have access to the resources I have downloaded.

Good call on the http://www.ccel.org/ link. I would imagine there is (grr.. I cannot think of a better way to phrase this sentence ) several lifetimes worth of reading at ccel alone!
Romans 1:20 "Where is the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputer of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of this world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe." - NKJV

That's true! I have made a resolution to try and read some each day from these resources.

After loading the CDroms, I was sort of paralyzed by the overwhelming amount of stuff!

I mean, there are 63 volumes of Spurgeon's sermons in the AGES Spurgeon collection! And that's just part of one author...

      Lee

Greek, easy? You've got to be kidding me. Hebrew is much easier to master ;)

Hebrew is fairly simple - and once you have the basics, you can pretty much figure out everything on your own. But, I will admit I'm biased on this one ;)

Re: *********BIBLE SOFTWARE, What do you use?*********

The difficulty I have had with Hebrew is the qal imperfect tense, it looks so nice in the grammatical tables, but then when I read some real Hebrew, it's all over the map! When I see a verb form I don't recognize, I've started saying "It must be one of those imperfects," and that's usually correct!

But both languages are pretty accessible, two or three pages of tables, and a hundred vocabulary words in Hebrew (the Greek vocabulary is similar in many ways to English), and you're pretty much all set.

Though mastering Hebrew and Greek I think is quite difficult! I still haven't tackled those obscure verb forms, in either language. One other problem is I keep forgetting what I've already memorized, too...

      Lee

For the serious student you can't go past "BibleWorks".
Another software package I would recommend is "The Watchtower Library" (no, I'm not a Jehovah's Witness)
      Cheers,

Bibleworks is very good, and Logos too, though the Logos software used to have a very klunky interface, they fixed that and now I would say it's on a par with Bibleworks. And in Logos you can purchase and download theological ebooks.

I use Logos these days, and it's nice being able to download books to my phone for use while out and about.
Okay, I finally have a blog.

I use Eloquent (formerly known as MacSword). It's free, open-source, and has a great selection.

"Then I looked, and I heard around the throne and the living creatures and the elders the voice of many angels, numbering myriads of myriads and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice, 'Worthy is the Lamb Who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing!' And I heard every creature in heaven and on earth and under the earth and in the sea, and all that is in them, saying, 'To Him Who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be blessing and honor and glory and might forever and ever!' And the four living creatures said, 'Amen!' and the elders fell down and worshiped. [Revelation 5:11-14, English Standard Version]
