Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
Anticipate. Be strong. Don’t be afraid. Look, your God is coming…

Unfortunately even for seasoned believers there are times when life’s road through lush valley’s bathed in sunshine and warmth through fields of fragrant wildflowers and tall shade trees suddenly in minutes turns into a dry and cold desert of mountains of loose sand. Then dropping to our knees we pray, “Jesus, I know you’re alive in my heart but today it seems as if you’re on the other side of the galaxy.” Have you ever experienced similar feelings?

There are times when our lives become so cluttered we can lose touch with ourselves and then it becomes important to take time get in touch with ourselves, to stop, look, open our hearts, and examine our hopes and fears, our joy’s and sorrow’s, our victories and disappointments, our wholeness and our brokenness. No matter how life tries to distract us and busy us the need always exists to continually reconnect not only with our inner selves but to expand and deepen our relationship with Jesus. That is especially true during the Christmas season with all its “gotta do” things.

For us in our time in history the Christmas season is time of a reflection on Jesus’ birth. But once upon a time in history the Christmas season was an anticipation of Jesus’ birth. There is something important that needs to be emphasized about rather than reflecting on Jesus’ birth instead anticipating his birth and God’s promises that came with his birth.

Its one thing to reflect and rehearse the Christmas story and it’s another thing to anticipate God living in our hearts with divine words of hope and encouragement. Against the backdrop of a world that seems to be cold, impersonal, and detached the inspiring, words of God encourage and warm our hearts reminding us of what it yet to come.

“The desert and dry land will become happy; the desert will be glad and will produce flowers. Like a flower, it will have many blooms. It will show its happiness, as if it were shouting with joy. It will be beautiful like the forest of Lebanon, as beautiful as the hill of Carmel and the Plain of Sharon. Everyone will see the glory of the LORD and the splendor of our God. Make the weak hands strong and the weak knees steady. Say to people who are frightened, “Be strong. Don’t be afraid. Look, your God will come, and he will punish your enemies. He will make them pay for the wrongs they did, but he will save you.”” (Isaiah 35:1–4, NCV)

The birth and message of Jesus – don’t reflect – instead anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!

    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary
