Miraculous Koran: similar
One of the miracles of koran is that no body can produce like it, see verses:
From: http://www.mukto-mona.com/Articles/avijit/produce_a_sura.htm
Produce a sura like The Quran...2:23
2:23 And if ye are in doubt As to what We have revealed From time to time to Our servant, Then produce a Sura Like thereunto; And call your witnesses or helpers (If there are any) besides God, if your (doubts) are true.
Bring a sura like The Quran...10:38
10:38 Or do they say, "He forged it"? Say: "Bring then A Sura like unto it,
And call (to your aid) Any one you can, Besides God, if it be Ye speak the
truth!"
Bring ten suras like the Quran...11:13
11:13 Or they may say, "He forged it." Say, "Bring ye then ten Suras Forged,
like unto it, and call (To your aid) whomsoever Ye can, other than God! - If
ye speak the truth!
All of mankind and Jinns together cannot produce the Quran...17:88
17:88 Say: "If the whole Of mankind and Jinns Were to gather together To
produce the like Of this Qur-an, they Could not produce The like thereof,
even if They backed up each other.
In this site is Al Furqan, an attempt to imitate the Koran:
http://www.islam-exposed.org/index.htm
It took seven years to produce.
The following from the net;
"Seven years in preparation, it is written in perfect classical Arabic and is a powerful and practical tool to share the message........."
"Arabic and English side-by-side on every page. Prose and poetry of the highest caliber in classical Arabic with English interpretation. It contains 77 surats (chapters) dealing with as many subjects which are beautifully written and easily understood. Love, Light, Peace, Truth, Repentance, Women, Marriage, Fasting, Prayer, Abrogation, The Sacrifice, Inspiration, Paradise, The Scale and The Excellent Names are some of the chapters written in the unique style of the Quran. "
http://www.truth-in-crisis.com/TheTrueFurqan.htm
and
"...a better Quran, written in beautiful and grammatically clear Arabic and forceful English..."
DR Michael Brown;
Professor of Semitic Languages
Reading The True Furqan is as close a reading to the Quran that has ever
been written in 14 centuries."
A Los Angeles, CA Muslim convert[/quote]
So the writers have another 16 years to produce more!!!
Can anybody imagine how the final production would be when compared to the 1400 years old Koran?
There are 78 Suras with 958 verses in Al-Furqan.
Comments: see above
Question: The Koran is unique: is it?

Re: Miraculous Koran: similar
Those sites were really interesting, especially the last which really flies in the face of Surah 2:23.

Re: Miraculous Koran: similar
Hmm. I could send them to sites all over the internet to show why the bible "appears" to be corrupted is because of the 1000's of interpretations of churches today. The 2 sites below the first article is just a "fraction" of it. If the jews can't even interpret their own scripture, how are we and muslims suppose to be able to? Interesting site though. And yes, the KJV is a very bad translation. Peace to you.

Why do Muslims claim that the Bible is corrupted?
The Muslims believe that with the different version of the Bible (i.e, King James, New International Version, etc.) that the Biblecannot be trusted as a legitimate source of God's word. What they fail to realize that the Old Testament is written in Hebrew and the New Testament is written in Greek, neither in English. These originals have NOT changed. They were translated into these versions to further our understanding of God's Word
The Bible is full of peculiar editing, including addition to the manuscripts of the prophets a series of what were obviously false prophecies. It would have been obvious to the redactors that the prophecy they had edited into the manuscripts was false (and this is particularly true of the false prophets in the book of Ezekiel, as I will demonstrate). The prophets attacked the ideology of books like Leviticus in the Torah, and at the same time we find contradictory Levite prophecy in the books of the prophets. It was the Levites who were the final editors of the Bible, not the prophets, and it was the Levite priests who turned out to be the false prophets of the Bible. In the books of the prophets we find obviously false prophecy and Levite prophecy. This leads me to question the motives of the redactors.

Re: Miraculous Koran: similar
You are totally missing the point of the sites moonlight posted. Mohammed (i.e. the voice of Allah in surah 2:23) challenged his detractors to produce a surah like those of Mohammed. Well, the challenge has been answered - and new surahs produced.

Ok. I keep my "nose" in the scriptures most time, so never really look at what the jews or muslims study on. Muslims need to study the OT more concerning who was to come to the temple in Malachi 2 LOL. I may look at this site for awhile. Thanks.

"I have heard Muslims say that Jesus himself never claimed to be God's Son. Is this so?"
"Islam very often misquotes the Bible. Read John 10:30 - I and the Father are one and John 10:36 - ...why then do you accuse me of blasphemy because I said, "I am God's Son'?"Isaiah 25: 8 He will swallow up death forever, And the Lord GOD will wipe away tears from all faces; The rebuke of His people He will take away from all the earth; For the LORD has spoken. 9 And it will be said in that day: "Behold, this [is] our God; We have waited for Him, and He will save us. This [is] the LORD; We have waited for Him; We will be glad and rejoice in His salvation."Malachi 3:1 "Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts.

Re: Miraculous Koran: similar
ICA, you are correct -of course Jesus proclaimed Himself to be God's Son as the verse you quoted states, contrary to Islamic beliefs.

Surah 2:23 was a challenge Mohammed throughout there to prove the divine inspiration of the Quran. He was saying that nobody could produce a surah as those being revealed by Mohammed. Of course, as the sites moonlight3 posted prove, Mohammed's surahs can be easily reproduced.
In fact, historians testify that Mohammed's surahs were actually inferior to much of the pre-Islamic poetry of Mohammed's day.
