Dried Calimyrna are far too sweet for my taste. I think they are much better fresh. Dried Black Mission figs are wonderful. Figs are one of my favorites because they are the only carnivorous fruit I know.

Only some figs are carnivorous. The blossom of a fig is an odd thing. A small pollinator has to crawl in through a small opening in the blossom and is never allowed out again. The blossom consumes the pollinator. Here is the first thing I found when searching.
