I was once asked, in this forum, about the elect being kings in the kingdom of God. If the elect are kings, don't they have subjects? It would seem ridiculous to consider an elect a king, and yet would not have subjects, right?
Jesus himself implied that the elect person will receive to rule, or govern. (see the parable of talents) (Matt 25:14-30)
Likewise, priests have their congregations. They the lead or govern their congregation.
What I used to believed is that those who are called elect, are the only ones to be saved. I came to understand this as a big error.
I came to understand that those elected to be kings and priests, are not the only ones to be saved, but rather they merely represent those who are favored amongst the saved. Those who are called to enter the kingdom of heaven are not the only ones to be saved, rather that they are the ones elected to be rulers/kings and priests in the whole kingdom of God.
God established heaven and earth in Israel (Isaiah 51:16), but it is only the tribe of Judah is considered the heavenly one, the mount Zion (Psalms 78:68). Amongst the twelve tribes, Judah is the one promised to have the kingship and the promised of superior priesthood, not the Levitical priesthood. The remaining eleven tribes are then considered as congregations, or the subjects, of Judah; the eleven tribes represent the earth.
A LESSON FROM THE LAW
In the Mosaic law, only the tribe of Levi is the one that has the authority to be priests. Yet, when God promised to Israel, the whole nation will be a nation of priests unto God (Lev 19:5-6). Here, in this promise of God, it would seem clear that the priesthood being promised is not about the Levitical priesthood; because amongst all Israel only the tribe of Levi are called to be priests. So when God spoke of the nation that will be a kingdom of priests, it does not represent the nation of Israel, neither it speaks of the tribe of Levi. But rather the promised priesthood fell unto Jesus, of the tribe of Judah, which tribe has no part of the Levitical priesthood (Hebrews 7:11-18). The point I am making in this is that of the whole nation chosen by God to be his kingdom, which represents those saved, only the tribe of Judah was the one given a more favorable promises. They are the ones who will be kings and priests, or which represent the heaven, a more glorious stature, than the earth. So when we speak of the people whom God will saved, we should not mistake of only referring to those who will be in the kingdom of heaven, or those who will be kings and priests, but also of those who will be subjects and congregants of the kings and priests.
What makes this important to understand is because God will create a New Heaven & Earth(Isa 65:17), and that this New Heaven & Earth will resemble that of Israel as described in Isaiah 51:16. And for those who would hope of the promises of God, we should expect this New Heaven & Earth to come; as it is even prophesied that the whole earth will be a kingdom of Christ and God (Rev 11:15).
Matthew 6:33
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
