Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

    A Glory Seed Devotional
    A God warming experience…

I don’t know about you but patience does not come easy for me, however, after that is not entirely true because when it comes to me doing something I can be as patient as anyone can be but when I am waiting on someone I have little or no patience. And speaking only for myself if I had a dollar for every time I’ve waited for the LORD I’d never need to worry about money.

Let me give you an example of what I am talking about. Because of the very cold weather sometime Monday night or early Tuesday morning the water pipes at my son’s house froze up. When I found out I started asking the LORD to help the small electric heater they’d put under the house thaw the pipes out. The little heater worked without any help all day Tuesday without any luck. My prayers continued. Wednesday morning I crawled under the house and moved the little heater a little closer to its intended target and prayed on my way home.

To some it may sound dumb to ask the LORD to help out with a frozen water pipe after all God works in a “human world” not in a “thing world” so why expect him to help thaw out a water pipe? However, humans live their lives in a “thing world” and to me if God can part a sea, change water into wine helping to thaw out a water pipe is small “potatoes”. But he wasn’t answering my prayers and I was getting a little frustrated as my patience fizzled.

Then Wednesday afternoon on my way to our afternoon bible study session at church I began praying, “All you need to do LORD is to breathe on the pipes and your breath will thaw them out. We need a miracle God.” As I was getting out of my car to go into church I received a text message from my daughter-in-law, “We have water.” I immediately began thanking and praising God for the miracle! God turned ice into water. That may not sound like a miracle to you but the temperature was still single digits!

Out of that experience I am re-learning God not only listens to us but also responds to us within the framework of his plan not ours. And while not always answering our prayers the way we ask him to his response is always “tailored” to our needs. This particular time not only did my son’s household get its needed precious water (we generally take for granted) and I received the God-listens-cares-and-thaws-faith-boost I needed.

If you are suffering with frozen faith or a frozen heart then please continue praying and at the same time allow this PROMISE to warm your heart, “Then times of refreshment will come from the presence of the Lord, and he will again send you Jesus, your appointed Messiah.” (Acts 3:20, NLT)

God not only thaws frozen pipes but he also thaws out frozen hearts!

    Believe it! Experience it!

    Grace and PEACE!
    Gary

    Amen to that Gary!
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
