Facebook blocks page of Putin critic within Russia

Garry Kasparov posted this on Facebook, indignant about how this was a sign that Facebook is not the tool for revolution people thought. I don't know why anyone is surprised. It's one thing to stand up to an unstable Middle Eastern/northern African government; it's quite another to stand up to Russia. (Facebook does generally comply with laws wherever they go; many websites do similar things in, say, China.)

Their stock is doing far better than I expected it would by this point a couple years ago... but risking getting yourself blocked in the ninth largest country in the world would be a good way to change that.
