Who loves Tim Burton?
and I were hanging out over the last few days while I was on spring break. We watched Sleepy Hollow and we both enjoyed it.
didn't bring in any of his usual literture criticisms that he often does, so that means he enjoyed it.
After that, we rented Nightmare before Christmas and watched it. I love the songs in that one and would still love to get some people together and learn a few so that we could sing the "Kidnap Santa Claus" song around Christmas time.
We had intended to rent another Tim Burton movie that night, but I couldn't think of any. Later, I remembered how cool Edward Scissorhands is. After thinking about his movies, I wonder if Tim Burton is an icon of goth kid culture, like The Cure and The Crow
Does anybody else love Tim Burton?Dropping a few Eschatology Bombs, or "Let's think before we endorse another way."

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
Right here. Pee-Wee's Big Adventure, Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Ed Wood, Sleepy Hollow. I didn't care too much for Mars Attacks!, though. Planet of the Apes was okay.

"Kidnap The Sandy Claws"
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Kidnap Mr. Sandy Claws
[LOCK]
I wanna do it
[BARREL]
Let's draw straws
[SHOCK]
Jack said we chould work together
Three of a kind
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Birds of a feather
Now and forever
Wheeee
La, la, la, la, la
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, lock him up real tight
Throw away the key and then
Turn off all the lights
[SHOCK]
First, we're going to set some bait
Inside a nasty trap and wait
When he comes a-sniffing we will
Snap the trap and close the gate
[LOCK]
Wait! I've got a better plan
To catch this big red lobster man
Let's pop him in a boiling pot
And when he's done we'll butter him up
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Throw him in a box
Bury him for ninety years
Then see if he talks
[SHOCK]
Then Mr. Oogie Boogie man
Can take the whole thing over then
He'll be so pleased, I do declare
That he will cook him rare
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Wheeee!
[LOCK]
I say that we take a cannon
Aim it at his door and then
Knock three times and when he anwers
Sandy Claws will be no more
[SHCOK]
You're so stupid, think now
If we blow him up into smithereens
We may lose some pieces
And the Jack will beat us black and green
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Kidnap the Sandy Claws
Tie him in a bag
Throw him in the ocean
Then see if he is sad
[LOCK & SHOCK]
Because Mr. Oogie Boogie is the meanest guy around
If I were on his Boogie list, I'd get out of town
[BARREL]
He'll be so pleased by our success
That he'll reward us too, I bet
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Perhaps he'll make his special brew
Of snake and spider stew
Ummm!
We're his little henchmen
And we take our job with pride
We do our best to please him
And stay on his good side
[SHOCK]
I wish my cohorts weren't so dumb
[BARREL]
I'm not the dumb one
[LOCK]
You're no fun
[SHOCK]
Shut up!
[LOCK
Make me
[SHOCK]
I've got something, listen now
This one is real good, you'll see
We'll send a present to his door
Upon there'll be a note to read
Now, in the box we'll wait and hide
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Until his curiousity
Entices him to look inside
And then we'll have him
One, two, three
[LOCK, SHOCK & BARREL]
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, beat him with a stick
Lock him for ninety years, see what makes him tick
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, chop him into bits
Mr. Oogie Boogie is sure to get his kicks
Kidnap the Sandy Claws, see what we will see
Lock him in a cage and then throw away the key"My love is nailed to the cross" - St. Ignatius the God-Bearer
“Prove your love and zeal for wisdom in actual deeds.” -- St. Callistus Xanthopoulos

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
I've absolutely adored Tim Burton since I was a teenager. Him and Danny Elfman (the music) are awesome.
There's no way I'm singing though.
His movie "The Corpse Bride" is coming out soon, and it looks fantastic! It's stop motion animation similar to Nightmare.

I love him, except for the suckerrific Planet of the Apes. Buuuuut, I was one of those little goth kids, back in the day.
Meh.

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
he is cool but i am dubious of his re-doing of willy wonka, which was a perfect movie in every regards, so saying that any other rendition will only detract from it. we'll see though, I'm sure it'll be entertaining atleast.

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
He's not really doing the Willy Wonka movie over, he's doing another movie based on the book.
This is the kind of stuff you're going to hear: "What was with the squirrels? Why did he have to change that? The Geese were better." Squirrels were used in the book, not the old movie.

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
ahh! ok, so it isn't a reproduction of willy wonka, but a different view of the book. very cool then!

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
Big Fish was awesome.
The rain, it started tapping on the window near my bed.
There was a loophole in my dreaming, so I got out of it.
And to my surprise my eyes were wide and already open.

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
I didn't realize he did that one. Is he getting old and thinking about his own mortality?

Re: Who loves Tim Burton?
I just saw Big Fish last night. Far and away Burton's best work, and I'm sorry it took me nearly five years getting around to it.
