Glory Seed Guidelines

Notice – The ministries featured in this section of TheologyWeb are guests of this site and in some cases not bargaining for the rough and tumble world of debate forums, though sometimes they are. Additionally, this area is frequented and highlighted for guests who also very often are not acclimated to debate fora. As such, the rules of conduct here will be more strict than in the general forum. This will be something within the discretion of the Moderators and the Ministry Representative, but we simply ask that you conduct yourselves in a manner considerate of the fact that these ministries are our invited guests. You can always feel free to start a related thread in general forum without such extra restrictions. Thank you.

These daily devotionals are brought to you by Gary Piper, a writer with our Sister Site, Natural Spirit Ministries. TheologyWeb encourages you to visit and support their site.... they have many informative articles which can be discussed right here. If you enjoy Gary Piper's devotionals, please send him an encouraging note or post. We are very appreciative of our partnership with Natural Spirit Ministries and look forward to many more co-ventures.

Glory Seed Devotionals, 2015: Year of Promise
The Good News in 108 words…

There are times when I think society has somehow tapped in to a death fixation. The news media is quick to report how many people were killed in gun related crimes, in how many people were killed in car accidents, in how many died in house fires, and there are some who pick up a newspaper and the first thing they check in the death notices. Now don’t get me wrong I am not trying to bury my head in the sand and ignore the fact that death is a real part of life, one that cannot be ignored.

What I want to point out is in spite of all the gloomy news filling our minds there is Good News that is directly related to the life-death-life struggle. “And when you were baptized, it was the same as being buried with Christ. Then you were raised to life because you had faith in the power of God, who raised Christ from death. You were dead, because you were sinful and were not God’s people. But God let Christ make you alive, when he forgave all our sins. God wiped out the charges that were against us for disobeying the Law of Moses. He took them away and nailed them to the cross. There Christ defeated all powers and forces. He let the whole world see them being led away to as prisoners when he celebrated his victory.” (Colossians 2:12–15, CEV)

“You were dead… But God let Christ make you alive…” God nailed your sins to the cross, buried them with Jesus, and then on Resurrection Sunday made you alive with Christ but when you walked out of the tomb your sins did not come with you. The news does not get any better!

YOU ARE ALIVE NOT JUST PHYSICALLY BUT SPIRITUALLY AS WELL!

I think it is important from time-to-time we remind ourselves that in spite of the disturbing news there is reason to be thankful to God for the life we have. And God tells us how to thank him. “I am God Most High! The only sacrifice I want is for you to be thankful and to keep your word. Pray to me in time of trouble. I will rescue you, and you will honor me.” (Psalm 50:14–15, CEV)

    Anticipate! Experience! Believe! Be transformed!
    Grace and PEACE, Amen!
    Gary

Amen Gary! Beautiful and true words.
3 For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, 4 that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures --1 Corinthians 15:3-4 (borrowed with gratitude from 37818's sig)
