When my mom died, the last couple of days she couldn't get out of bed and couldn't talk to us. The hospice nurse called us in when she thought it was time (it was during the night and we were asleep) and we all gathered around my mom, and I lay on the bed and held her hand and talked to her, telling her how much we loved her and that everything would be alright, and that it was OK for her to go be with dad now. Almost as I said it, I felt her relax and she passed away, peacefully.
