What comic book series needs a movie?
I'd love to see the JLA making it to the big screen, there's so much potential in terms of story. If the X-Men can get a decent pair of movies, surely the JLA can get one. I think the range of powers is what rules this movie out for a while. Superman alone would be tough to get right, much less the Martian Manhunter.
Also, the Green Lanterns could use one. They are even perfect for the trend of computer-graphic overload in movies these days. All the constructs would look fantastic, since CGI would give them that not-quite-real look.In the grave they chose to make their beds
Now all that they've created comes crashing down,
Down upon their heads
Death is waiting

If they would make a good Crisis on Infinite Earths movie, I could die a happy man.

I used to love them back in my comic book days. What ever happened to them?

Didn't Minnesota say something about 'The Atheist' comic book? CGI could really bring that one to life.

I think the next big blockbuster hit is going to happen with Ant Man.

They went the way of obscurity, like every other good thing.

Re: What comic book series needs a movie?
I'd definitely like to see "The Ultimates" converted to the big screen, but the clearance for all the characters would be a nightmare, and thus, not likely.
The rest of the comics I love would probably be better served on television - particularly "Watchmen" - I can't see Paul Greengrass doing justice to the story in less than 8 hours. On a similar note, I'd like to see "Top Ten", "Wildcats 3.0", "Planetary" and "The Authority" get TV series.
We may still see Warren Ellis' "Global Frequency" on TV yet; the pilot's been filmed but WB have passed on the option...

Frank Miller's Dark Knight Returns. That's about it, actually.

Silver Surfer, including Galactus and the Surfer's origin; none of this changing things around to suit the screen nonsense. Ghost Rider is already in the works with Nicholas Cage as Johnny Blaze (not sure if I'm okay with that or not). I would like to see a Captain America flick done properly. Oh yeah and let me make a "Man-Thing" film that does the big guy justice.

I would like to see a Powers movie. Or The Pulse/Alias. And a Sam and Max Freelance Police movie would be fabuloso.
Meh.
