Fraternity Guidelines

This is a guy's only forum. No girls allowed. Male bonding time.

In here we can leave the seat up, drink from the carton and talk about manly things without fear of the ladies butting in. You know how they can be.

But remember, always play by the rules: here
See more

Are there some guy things that just don't jibe with you?

If Tweb wasn't so depleted of members there would be a pretty big challenge going on here.

I never watch sports unless at a party, live at the event, or if there's a bet involved.

I don't like football. It's a game played by a bunch of pansies who love putting on a show for a free kick at goals.

If you meant American football.....I've never watched a real game, but it seems rather pointless.

Now if you're talking Rugby (Union not League) and Cricket.....those I enjoy.

I think this has become a very confused and misunderstood thread. Wasn't it just supposed to be a place to vent about "guy stuff" that maybe a guy is supposed to like, but doesn't? I don't know...that's the way I took it. A definite guy thing is American football, but not all guys are into it. Car racing is a guy thing, but some guys don't like it.

I barely know the basic rules for football, which is more than I can say for my older brother. My family has never cared that much about watching sports. There needs to be a sport that involves picking on atheists who couldn't argue their way out of a paper bag.

Hmm... I didn't have a very good time in grade school, and it extended in high school. By that time I plain didn't care what others thought of me. I was determined to do what I wanted to do, and the heck with anyone else. Looking back, that's been both good and bad.

Anyhow, no, not really. I don't really hang out with anyone anymore; if I did, I would just avoid those who do things I don't like. Right now my life revolves around eat sleep work and family. No room for "manly" stuff.

A while ago I came across a men's blog; I read a few articles, then thought about what it meant to be a man. Since that was basically the point of the blog, helping men be men. I decided that I was a man simply because I was one. Lousy description, since it fails to describe how I became one: but in terms of living in the here and now, and future, it was sufficent. I don't need to learn how to shave like a man, or watch sports like a man, or drink like a man, or abstain like a man, or ___. I'm a man, therefore, what I do is... manly. Nothing I do makes me manly; the converse does not work.

Going to work and providing for your family sounds like a manly thing to me.

I never watch baseball unless I'm with somebody or by myself.

The only sports I could get into were Braves baseball and sometimes when I was in Charlotte I'd go bowling with friends. I could play touch football some in Elementary School, but I didn't care after that. I didn't even watch the Super Bowl last night. If I do, I read a book during the game and watch during the commercials. I also don't care for racing nor would I care for much in the great outdoors like hunting or fishing.

On the other hand, I don't mind playing fighting games with friends on a console and beating their brains out.

I never liked "traditional" sports, like football or basketball. I do like weird geek sports like robot fighting though.

I used to turn on basketball games at night to help me go to sleep.

I like baseball and basketball so I suppose that puts me in the minority here.
