Your family is in my prayers Bill! God Bless!

All of us who haven't had to face this KNOW...it's only a matter of time. My sisters husband, just lost his Father. The service was Friday. I once again, thought, how very blessed I am to still have my parents alive and relatively healthy...

This poem was read at the graveside. I thought it very fitting:

                    Gone From My Sight

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

                    Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

                    And that is dying...

Thank you my dear friends. It's been a strange week and a half. Filled with condolences and prayers among the attempted return to routine. Life does go on, as it must. I will never EVER forget my wonderful mama, but I know she would not want me to stop living my life and being as good a husband and father as the Lord has called me to be. It was weird seeing Daddy without her this past Sunday, as it was strange not hearing her oxygen pump or seeing her recliner chair beside Dad's.
