But it's not quite the same thing, is it? Paul did a little more than simply reject Christianity, he violently suppressed it until a supernatual revelation convinced him to change his world view, a decision that is otherwise difficult to explain in light of the consequences it had on his life. He went from being a respected Jewish leader, likely living in the lap of luxury, to a life of hardship and persecution that eventually led to his imprisonment and execution.

Show me a former Christian who put as much on the line when he rejected his faith, and I'll agree that your comparison carries some validity.
...becuase hey, I should pick one.

      Ezekiel 37
      The Forum of Dry Threads

1 The hand of the LORD was on me, and he brought me out by the Spirit of the LORD and set me in the middle of a forum; it was full of dead threads. 2 He led me back and forth among them, and I saw a great many threads in the archives in the forum, threads that were very dead. 3 He asked me, “Son of man, can these threads live?”

I said, “Sovereign LORD, you alone know.”

4 Then he said to me, “Prophesy to these threads and say to them, ‘Dead threads, hear the word of the LORD! 5 This is what the Sovereign LORD says to these threads: I will make breath enter you, and you will come to life. 6 I will attach tendons to you and make flesh come upon you and cover you with skin; I will put breath in you, and you will come to life. Then you will know that I am the LORD.’”

Then Morgoth turned upon Húrin, and he said: 'Fool, little among Men, and they are the least of all that speak! Have you seen the Valar, or measured the power of Manwë and Varda?
Do you know the reach of their thought? Or do you think, perhaps, that their thought is upon you, and that they may shield you from afar?'

'I know not,' said Húrin. 'Yet so it might be, if they willed. For the Elder King shall not be dethroned while Arda endures.'
