Favorites of non-christians
From a study by BARNA UPDATES,
http://www.barna.org/cgi-bin/PagePre...27&Reference=B
Democrats were tied at 32% approval rating with Born again Christians.
Republicans were tied at 23% with Lesbians
Evangelicals at 22% were only ahead of Prostitutes at 5%
I couldn't make these up if I wanted too!

Yet some skeptics will claim that Christians are not persecuted in any way ... that people are TOLERANT of us ... Bah.

How does this prove *per*secution?

I didn't say that it proved anything. It goes toward a pattern of intolerance.
Oh ... and thanks for the spelling correction ... that's what happens when I'm tired and don't proofread

From Sher:
but those "born agains" were third overall.Yet some skeptics will claim that Christians are not procecuted in any way ... that people are TOLERANT of us ... Bah.
Perhaps your term "Christians is a bit too broad?
What surprized me was the rating given to military officers - you know, the ones with "military intelligence". I quess you just can't trust your fellow non-christian.
added:
"Born again Christians" were defined in these surveys as people who said they have made a personal commitment to Jesus Christ that is still important in their life today and who also indicated they believe that when they die they will go to Heaven because they had confessed their sins and had accepted Jesus Christ as their savior. Respondents were not asked to describe themselves as "born again" or if they considered themselves to be "born again."
this is a pretty broad definition so you should take heart! The value and naturalness of homosexuality must be as scientifically clear as the fact that the earth is round. Then the acceptance of homosexuality will not crumble when the political pendulum next swings - Joan Roughgarden

Sher, how does having an unfavorable impression of something equate to intolerance? I have an unfavorable impression of rap music, green beans, and females who wear lace frills on their clothing. How does this make me "intolerant?"
Speaking of applying a broad brush, how does "non-Christian" equate to "skeptic?" Do you think there are only two belief stances in the world?

From the definition given for "Born again Christians" it would seem BARNA has a very generalized grouping. Perhaps, and I'm only guessing, it has sometihing to do with construction of the polls
The survey and analysis is directed to "pasteral" concerns so, in some way, it makes sense to me to be "non" and un-non"The value and naturalness of homosexuality must be as scientifically clear as the fact that the earth is round. Another way of looking at this is that only 9% of ministers, 17% of Born-Again Christians, and 23% of Evangelicals had generally unfavorable impressions. The vast majority of non-Christians really don't dislike us. How you look at this all depends on how you count the "in-betweens" and "don't knows".
