The problem isn't just that it's big (if it was just that one could say they just carved a big rock and made it). The problem is that the quarry from which they got the stone was in a valley. It's surprisingly easy to move large masses with primitive means. You just have to stop thinking about the problems using a post-industrial revolution mindset.
