FreeWillers Please Answer These Questions?
1) Did Jesus pay the punishment for the sins of those who pay the punishment for their sins in hell?
2) When the Bible says that the Grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, does that mean that the gospel appears to those who never have the gospel preached to them?
3) If God does his best to save everyone, did God do his best to save Pharoh when he hardened him?

Re: FreeWillers Please Answer These Questions?
Just curious - Are you familiar at all with Norman Geisler's book Chosen But Free?

Re: FreeWillers Please Answer These Questions?
deja vu
If I have a mystical experience, an experience that's so overwhelming that I know now that there's a God, the cognitive fallout from that is irrelevant. The fact that that experience can be explained by psychologists in numerous ways is irrelevant to the fact that I now know.

Are you familiar with James White's refutation of it? - http://www.straitgate.com/geisler/

Re: FreeWillers Please Answer These Questions?
I wouldn't deny the scriptural testimony that God expresses hatred.

What I would deny is that he expresses hatred without giving an obvious reason for that hatred which is invariably connected to men's actions. This is clear enough in the very verses you cite, if you actually read them. As such, calvinism's assertion that God hates individuals irrespective of wickedness they have done is entirely out of place with the abundance of scripture you have handily collected.
Go read over your list of scriptures again, and tell me I'm not right.

Re: FreeWillers Please Answer These Questions?
I wasn't talking about unconditional hatred (though I believe in it), I was going against the free willers who say God doesn't hate anyone.

Re: FreeWillers Please Answer These Questions?
What does that other part of Romans 9 mean when it speaks about niether Jacob or Esau having done good or evil, that the purpose of election might stand in God making the elder serve the younger? You know, the verse in the same context as God saying he hated Esau?

I'll allow Michael to speak for himself. In the meantime...would you mind providing a relevant quote? Appreciate it much.
